The force with the water came through the rocks was an something to watch.....and then became so tranquil. A delight to contemplate.

Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales is a most see for anyone visiting Puerto Montt. The park is nature at it's best. Crystal clear water, fauna, flora and trails galore. Photographers will have a lots of fun as well as hikers and families that just want to be in nature.

The only thing I regret is that the tour I was with did not give us enough time to appreciate this wonderful place. Please do not miss it and spend at least several hours!

Its beautiful but my friends and I could hardly move with the amount of people there! Definitely go, but go early to avoid huge amounts of tourists!

We arrived at around 1pm and the place was FULL of people. We had to queue for a while. Unfortunately the river was really low when we went so it wasn't that impressive. The site is pretty small; not much room for any significant walking/ trekking which was a shame. Go to Lagos de Todos Los Santos just 6 km away!

This place was part of a larger tour we were on. It was a great stop. There are trails that were fairly easy to walk on to get back to the falls. The water was clear and a beautiful color. It was amazing to see the volcano towering above the falls. Worth a visit.

Impressive strong blueish-gree waterfall, with a great view to the Osorno Volcano. For sure this place is one of the best places to visit around puerto varas!

Bluest river I ever saw. Paid, but cheap. A bit crowded (It was summer). You must visit if you are in the Lake LLanquihue region.

Lovely place, well kept and tourist-friendly. The park infrastucture is first class. We are returning to Petrohué on February 18, 2015 for trout and salmon fishing.

This was part of a cruise excursion and our tour guide, Gabriel, was knowledgeable and had excellent English. The tour bus was one of several so there were lots of people working their way along the paved pathway. Note that this is NOT a good tour for anyone using walkers, crutches or wheelchairs. Much as you might like to try it, I do not recommend it. There are several short stairs that are uneven and irregular. The pathway is narrow and there are people passing both ways. There are a couple of bridge walkways that are narrow and walkers take up the entire path so it is very hard to get across. Even managing this, there are several areas where the rocks are slippery and not from water. It is the nature of the basalt rocks. It is possible to see most of the cascades from a shorter walk but there are still stairs. That being said, if you are careful and patient, you can make it through to the end of the path where it seemed to be easy to get photographs. Some angles included the volcano. Once pictures were taken, most people made the return trip so the traffic flow was pretty steady. Some people did try to bypass the line by stepping off the path onto the rocks but those that did this struggled to remain upright because of the slick rocks and didn't get any further ahead. There is an alternate path that moves away from the cascades but gives a view of the volcano and leads to a small pond. There is much more to this park than we had time to see but what I did see, and the gift shop at the entrance, was lovely. I would have liked to spend more time here but what I did see was wonderful.
