It was slightly difficult driving our RV off the highway, down the hill into this campground which opened up to a nice big area. Being there only a few weeks before its closing for the season left very few people at the campground and the little place within walking distance to eat was already closed for the season. It was easy to park our rig and while we were assured there was wifi throughout, we were sadly disappointed to find there was not. Found beautiful rocks and sea glass on the beach when the tide went out.

Spencers Island is a lovely place - if you want to camp , have a cottage or park an RV right on the ocean then this is the perfect spot. It has a relaxed hippy feel to the place and the Sun Moon and Stars shop is fabulous for interesting quality and unique items. There is a small restaurant / cafe here that serves fair fare :-) we missed the Wild Carraway as they had a function so were closed - we will definitely go back with a group of friends and enjoy this beautiful area.

We drove down to pick up some (very tasty) takeout food at the Spencer's Island Beach Cafe; otherwise, we wouldn't have turned off Route 209 and we would have missed this all together. What a delightful spot to gaze out at the water. A stone cairn with a bronze plaque pays tribute to the Mary Celeste, the ill-fated ship built here and later found floating in the Atlantic with no sign of its crew. Well worth your time for a stop.

A wonderful place to set up your tent or park your trailer. The tide comes right up to your door. The view is beautiful and the staff are friendly. Great restaurant, The Wild Caraway, a few minutes away..Tom and Mary

Stayed at the Old Shipyard Beach Campground. Beautiful view from our campsite and Noreen(owner) was a very pleasant lady to accommodate us. Highly recommend this campground and beautiful surroundings.

We stayed in the two bedroom cottage Sea Glass (#3) At the Old Shipyard Campground. Your view is just a few feet from the ocean, breathtaking views. We were lucky enough to be there during a full moon, which appears to rise right out of the ocean. Just beautiful. The cottage is fully equipped, you want for nothing. Bob and Noreen the campground owners are very warm, friendly and welcoming. Anything we needed was there in minutes. My hats also off to Eric who also works at the campground, he is also very helpful and friendly. We stayed for 5 days and I was very sad to go. We have already booked for next year. I simply cannot wait to go back there!!

We stayed in campsite # 19 you can't really go wrong with any sites there. We enjoyed the rest and relation the campground offers. We will be back for sure.

One of the most beautiful places in Nova Scotia. A very nice camp ground right on the beach on the grounds of an old ship building yard, The very one where the famous mystery ship the Mary Celeste was built. A B&B close to the beach. A Cafe on the beach. Full of history and a place to just relax.
