Not really worth the money. The best part was the lions, they definitely demanded respect! Didn't see a hippo and when I asked the staff they suggested hippo point which is free and outside the park. There was a small giraffe, a few zebras etc. The best part was definitely access to the Impala Park Lodge for the sunset. 300 Ksh a beer, 1,250 for a burger, but a beautiful, romantic spot along the lake. Wouldn't recommend going, but if so take advantage of the sunset.

Considering this as one of the only attractions in Kisumu, I would say it is a nice spot to see the big 5. Also, if you add an extra 1000 Schillings, you can get in the cheetahs enclosure to pet them and take some pictures. However, don't expect this tour to be as awesome as if you were going to Masai Mara.

Not everywhere in Kenya can be as nice as a national park where you can the animals in their natural habitat. this place had animals in cages like an average zoo. I guess the conditions were better than average and the guards seemed to care for the animals welfare but still. We got to seethe cheetahs and take pictures with them. that part was really nice. we also went on a boat in Lake Victoria but weren't able to see any hippos, sadly.

A good place to see a variety of animals, some of which are roaming free around the park while those that are unlikely to interact favourably with human visitors are behind wire. A surprising exception and highlight was the cheetah enclosure. The cheetahs are habituated to humans and the keepers will let you in to stroke them and tickle their tummies (the cheetahs, not the keepers!).The keepers are also happy to talk about the animals to visitors. The only drawback was the fact that many of the paths are uneven and unsuitable for wheelchairs.

The lake was spectacular and have a wide array of enclosed animals. Good for walks after a lunch to burn the calories.

This place is in a nice spot by Lake Victoria and if you're lucky you may see a hippo wallowing in the lake. The animals in the enclosures look healthy but there isn't much to see, especially for €25 each. I did enjoy hearing the lions roar though when I was in my guest house that evening, a couple of miles away!

The temperatures of Kisumsu city are sometimes very high and this sanctuary is located very near the shores of the lake.So if you are tired of walks ang the hot sun you can get and ideal shade to rest and beware do not share your food stuff with the monkeys. But generally is a cool place.

The sanctuary is on the banks of Lake Victoria which gives a nice ambience. However most of the animals are in enclosures making the sanctuary nothing more than a zoo really. The entrance cost is 10x more for tourists than it is for residents which is appalling. The zebra and impala roaming the sanctuary were about the only positives.

Other than a few loose zebras and impalas, all of the other animals are caged. for a tip, the guards will let you pet the cheetahs.
