We arrived by horse and buggy which was lovely...the sellers were the usual hassle- which is a shame because it put us off even looking- but once inside the temple is huge and unless you see it for yourself you cannot imagine the scale and grandeur..they were clever, skilful amazing people..absolutely beautiful....

We arrived at this temple from our boat by horse-drawn carriage. That was fun. There's a bit of a walk across a courtyard area through the inevitable vendors but once past them the huge pylons are in front of you. Be amazed at the carvings up the sides. Inside is the history of the building of the temple carved by the Ptolemys. We had an excellent guide from Spring Tours who explained all the different parts of the story and the offerings and the permissions the Gods gave etc. Well worth a visit but watch for those vendors!

Arguably only second to Abu Simbel! Beautiful temple, with so much work still preserved! We had a great guide as well and it was outstanding to see and learn about so much history of the place! We actually drove down from Aswan to Luxor, just to incorporate this in our itinerary... And it made the tortuous drive so worth it!

This Temple had always been a pleasure to visit. Its vast area and the so many big variety of art work included in it is a very attractive attraction. The story of Horus and his parents and hathour his wife is the center of the Egyptian mythology. The shrined around the the Holy place need around a whole day to see if you are interested. If you are a Photography fan, then go in the morning and start by the back of the temple, where the beautiful dpread of the Old Gods is on the wall in a huge attraction. The sun will fall on the facade on the afternoon.

must see this place and especially pharmacy room in the temple. i advise you to take a Nile cruise with Love Egypt Tours (very satisfied, they arrange everything for you and a tour guide with you all the time-4 days) and see all the things around Nile River.

We arrived by boat on the Nile and took a horse drawn carriage through the town to the Temple. It is not as spectacular as the one down in Luxor but it very well preserved and really gives you a sense of what it was like when it was operational.

We stopped here while on a boat cruise down the Nile river. What an amazing site! It is so well preserved. I only wish I knew hieroglyphics so I could read the stories on the walls
