This is amazing you have to remember that this is not the original location of this temple due to the dam being built in Aswan so it got moved to higher ground but it has been put back as it was found truly fantastic

If you go to Egypt & don't make the effort to go to Abu Simbel you are missing the best part. To see how a collection of nations got together to save these beautiful temples from a watery grave yet with all the technology available to them couldn't get the ulter positioned as the Egyptian had makes me wonder have we advanced at all. This is a must see!

This was the most Decorated, and rich with gifts Tomb in the Egyption dynasty.Rames II was the most powerfulist Pharaoh that ever lived.I believe he built the Abu Simbel. This tomb was the one of the biggest and most spectacular finds.(Rames II) mummy can be seen in the mummy room in the Cairo museum. And the weird thing is, out of all the mummys, he is the only only one that looks angry! Also his arms are a good 6 inches away from his body, this is because of the amount of gold that was present on his chest within his mummification, this proves his success as a ruler during his dynasty.

One of those sights that you should definitely see if you are doing a trip to the region. Ramesses II is such an important figure because he ruled for so long and thus was able to create so much for us to now see.

Absolutely amazing place. Take plenty of water and sun shade. This will blow your mind. Our guide from discover Egypt was soooooo knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth the trouble to go.

If you go to Egypt and can possibly get down to Abu Simbel, go there and see this amazing place. I remember the massive project to relocate this wonder of the world in the 1960s and thank goodness that they did. It is truly awe inspiring.

Ramses II temple was built to impress the visitors coming from the south and it certainly did! The four huge statues of Ramses outside are amazing. The inside is beautiful too. Both Ramses temple end his wife Nefertari temple were moved 60 meters higher during the sixties when the Egyptian president Nasser decided to build the great dam of Aswan. The job done is really impressive. And leave these too beautiful temples under water would have been a true pity .
