The Temple of Horus is very beautiful and well preserved and even has the Sacred Barge of the God Horus inside. It was a beautiful experience visiting this Ancient Temple. I booked a private tour with luxortravels.com and enjoyed my adventurous visit to Edfu and learned about the Ancient Egyptian Religion and Beliefs.

It is very impressive. All the walls were covered in hieroglyphs. The story is really interesting and I actually enjoyed listening to the guide. I usually whine to my parents a lot but this temple kept me interested.If you're going to skip Horus, you will be skipping a huge part of Edfu.

I havent seen a good sound and light show for a long time. The temple of Horus at Edfu is quite well preserved and maintained and they have a nice sound and light show too. The only area of improvement is providing some lighting on the way back to the exit after the show.

We arrived by horse cart prearranged by our tour guide in the morning. The approach gives a sense of awe in the preservation and grandeur of this place. Once inside we were able to see the many chambers and hieroglyphics adorning the place. Colors are well preserved and make for a better depth of understanding of what many more temples used to look like. These weren't drab piles of stones but vibrant temples built for people and gods.The inner sanctum is a highlight although looking up at the painted ceilings were another reward. The engineering that went into the temple is also fascinating if you can get a tour guide with the right knowledge. We were transported back by the same horse coach to our waiting boat for a cruise continuation.

You get to see an intact temple that was largely discovered as is, so very little reconstruction had to be done to it. You can spend a good hour admiring the details. The inner sanctum is still there like it was in ancient times.
