Recently visited the farm again. I was impressed with the needed improvements made. I see they have added more amenities to the "Little Village"; a favorite spot for the grand kids. Realistic details to each cottage or structure; providing an excellent location for "kids to be kids". Clean restrooms! Numerous trash receptacles, Informative Friendly Staff & Plenty of "Room to Roam" the orchard fields. Not offended at all when asked to pay the minimal admission fee of $3pp. Everyone is impacted by the inflation: THE PRICE OF MILK & BEEF ARE RAISED FOR THEIR FAMILIES TOO! Not to mention the costs of descent LIABILITY INSURANCE for the unforeseen accidents that occur without warning. Looking forward to the next visit to New York!!!!!NO other orchard in the area has a Little Village, it's worth the admission fee to see them light up & play for hours, running back & forth over that 2 acre portion. Honestly I was only going to Lawrence Farms to get things from the stand- I wasn't interested to go wandering around on the property. At the entrance I was turned away because I refused to pay $3.00 to step foot on the property. And that is fine- however I generally spend about $300.00 per season at their farm, so I guess they were ok with losing that money -over $3.00 very pathetic and I will utilize other local farms and markets before I ever step foot on their property again... And the people I have encountered were quite rude on this trip and many others!!!! I'm done with Lawrence Farms

We have visited Lawrence Farms many times. I have read some of the reviews below about the entrance fees. The first thing the reviewers forgot is that it is very expensive insurance wise to operate a place where the public visits, NY taxes on businesses are through the roof, fuel to run the farm has gone through the roof and one of the most important things is that many people are treating the farm as a park. They would go and use the facilities, eat the apples and ride the rides without paying for anything. I went there last year and watched people literally pick apples off the trees and throw them on the ground. Once they are on the ground they are no longer legally fit for consumption. Additionally, people forget, they go to the mall and spend hundreds on their kids, they go to the fairs and spend hundreds, they go ti the movies and spend almost a hundred on tickets and pop corn. Where can you go for less than fifty bucks, see horses, ducks geese, goats, turkeys, go on a hay ride, get pumpkins, ride a train, eat lunch and teach your children what a farm is about? I would like to say to the nay sayers and please go to the mall or stay home. Less crowded for me and my grandson!!!!

150 acres of fruit and vegetables, fully stocked farm shop, scenic views, animals to pet, vintage farm equipment to look at and ~60 staff on hand all extremely friendly and knowledgeable - what's not to like? Not sure what the fuss is about for $3 per person entry, you can sample anything as you pick and the selection is so extensive you will surely skip lunch! Hard working family owned operation, definitely recommend and will go back for more apple wood for our bbq pit soon!

My family & I had been to this farm for apple picking years ago, we had enjoyed it greatly, but this current trip was a disappointment. Thinking it would be fun to revisit, we set out on our hour long car ride only to reach the farm & told to pay $3/pp just to step foot on the farm. Then they charged you for the cost of the mesh apple bags(other orchards give away for free), $.50 each, grape boxes, $1, & wagons, $5. We ended up taking the free produce plastic bag & knew we weren't going to buy as many apples this year(to be honest,Trader Joe's apples look better). It costs $1/pp for the hay maze, I think $1/pp to ride the "train" & $10/dozen apple cider donuts. The place was packed, there was litter & filled abandoned produce bags as if people had second thoughts about the amount of $ they had already spent. If you are going for fresh air, not going to happen, there is so much fallen rotten produce it wreaks out in the orchard, I couldn't wait to leave. Watch your kids closely in the "parking lot", there's going to be an accident there soon, it's dangerous. After you've dropped more than enough $,be prepared to sit in traffic on the way out to the highway. One lane roads, tons of folks leaving, not a fun time. Save your time & $, go to a smaller orchard, this one has lost it's quaintness, my business & my recommendation!

Nice pick your own with all types of veggies and apples; however they charge you an admission just to step on the farm! I had to pay for the privilege of saving them the cost of labor. Shame on me for not knowing this ahead if time.

We took our 23 month old granddaughter here. Charged $3. Per person to get in ( most farms in area charge nothing ). Place is nice for young kids and staff is friendly. Prices for produce and food was high - ended up getting pumpkins and apples for less at a grocery store. Very crowded on weekend. Will not return due to high prices

I would give this place and outstanding review but there are too many "cons."PROS:1- Great variety of fruits and vegetables to pick, which include peaches, apples, nectarines, tomatoes, pumpkins, grapes and much more. It's not just apples!2- Great place for kids. Many activities, which include animals, a "little village," a "maze," a duck pond, wagon and train rides and even little go-karts.3- A well stocked country store, which includes apple cider donuts, pies, and much more.4- Parking is plentiful5- They provide wagons and boxes, not just bags as many other places do.CONS:1- They charge an admission fee of $3 per person, not per car. Most places don't charge anything.2- They charge $2 to rent a wagon and $1 to rent a box. Next time we'll bring our own cart.3- They do not provide a map of the area. There is one big map posted at the country store but you have to have a good memory to remember where things are. Next time, we'll bring paper and pencil and draw our own map. The staff is no help either. They don't know where things are located.4- Interestingly, they post signs with arrows on them, but they don't tell you where the arrows lead you to. 5- They charge $3.99 a pound for most items. Very expensive, but you don't have to pick a lot, just what you want.

We have always gone to Lawrence Farms annually for our apple picking. The idea of an admission fee is absolutely ridiculous. We usually spend at least $100 for four people and now an extra $12 on top of that. No thanks We will find another spot. 2 Thumbs down to Lawrence Farms

Price Chopper doesn't charge me three bucks a person to come in the store and buy fruits and veggies. We wanted to buy things in your store yesterday for dinner but turned right around when we saw the entry fee. With my wife, it would have been an added 6 dollars just to go and buy some veggies. Sorry about your finances but you will lose much more charging admission.
