This well-kept secret in the city of Newburgh specializes in contemporary art by emerging and established artists across the US. There is usually a new show every six to eight weeks and past exhibits have featured such internationally-known artists as Beatrice Coron, known for her intricate papercuts featured in numerous public spaces (including the NYC subway!), and Stefana McClure, whose works are part of MOMA collection. But you'll find samples of outstanding outsider art and young Hudson Valley artists, too. Truly worth a trip for the art connoisseur or those looking to learn more about contemporary art. A visit to the gallery is especially worthwhile for those interested in building a collection of up and coming artists hand-selected by Ann Street Gallery's art director, Virginia Walsh, one of the best curators in the Hudson Valley today.
