It's a clock. The clock works, but I don't think it's animated, or mechanical aside from that. Could be in the summer, I don't know. However, I know it was "saved" and restored (it looks lovely!) -- so kudos for that!

I know that it's just a Cuckoo Clock, clock in this little town of Sugar creek, but its so fun to see. It's like one of those "Must see" touristy things...like seeing the worlds largest ball of yarn or something. About an hour away in Chester, WV there is the world's largest teapot just on the side of the street too!

During my fall semester at Muskingum University (I drive everyday from Bremen to school and back), my family and I went to attend the Swiss Festival. We saw the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock, and because I am studying some German on the side of my music education, I was fascinated by the Polka Music and Alphorn Call and Response since I am a music education major. I really like the cuckoo clock and they have been around since the 1650's, over 360 years! Please attend the festival and see this wonderful masterpiece at work!

We remember this clock from when it was in its previous location and it brings back many good memories for me even going there with my mom and brings fond memories of my heritage. Love to see the dancers and listed to the music as I used to belong to a dance group that performed in the same manner.

I expected the "largest cuckoo clock" to be in a museum, but it is located in the Swiss Village on a street corner. It was good for a quick picture, but that's about it.

Hard to believe that this beautiful clock was destined for the scrap yard until some locals suggested it be moved to downtown Sugarcreek (home to the annual Swiss Festival every September). It's fun to watch what happens on the hour and makes a great backdrop for photos when all the flowers are in bloom. Definitely a FREEBIE must-see when you're in the area.

In this area of Ohio, most things are shut down on Sunday mornings. We took a beautiful drive and went to see this clock. As others have noted, it plays music for a good 3 minutes and the figures move the entire time. It is a fun thing to do if you are in the area and have nothing better to do.

It's in downtown Sugarcreek and it's free. Not a major attraction but I believe worth your time. A legion of musical players and dancers come out every hour and half hour for your pleasure. It is pretty cool and entertaining. We had to go back a couple of times to watch and take pictures. While there look behind you and see the new brick murals of Sugarcreek and the surrounding area. It's the world's largest Cuckoo clock and certainly worth your time, even if your not a cuckoo lover!

We arrived right before the clock began to sound which is every half an hour, when the clock sounds carved women and men come out and dance while music plays.
