this place remainds me long history of this area. If i'm thinking that this tree is one of 3 the oldest olive trees at the world- it's amazing. Place where armies sign an agreemenst, where the bride first time met her groom, so many simbols.... I like it!

We stopped on the way from Ulcinj to Kotor, under the heat of July, it gave us a good time to rest. The oldest tree and other trees are not special, but there are almost no people there so you can enjoy the ground/ garden more. The view up to the mountain is beautiful. They charge a small entrance fee but distribute to you gratis brochure and map about tourism in Bar region.

There is not much information of how to get to the olive tree for the visitors, so I just explain what you need to do. Just get the bus Cinj-Stari Bar traveling along the coast line and it stops at the major bus stops which Bar-H.Novi, Bar-Budva, etc stops. Also, the bus stops at the bus station next to the big Orthodox church (near the stadium, sports center) or the Catholic Catedral in the city center. The bus ride from the city center costs .50€ cent. When the bus stops near the big mosque and a small market nearby at the parking lot on the foot of the fortress, leave the area. You may ask about the right bus stop to go to the olive tree. Another option is take the taxi from the bus station or from the end of the bus stop near the fortress. The taxi ride from just outside of the fortress cost 3€ in my experience. It's quite hard to get to the olive tree without knowing the spot. My suggestion is that take the path right side of the mini market at the parking lot, pass the Christian cemetary to the left side of the road, walk forward and across the small bridge with dirty stream. You will see 2 mini market twice and then the olive tree is near the second market. I share the pics of the way back from the olive tree. It took me 20 min or so from the olive tree to the bus station. The taxi could wait for you as there is only the big olive tree at the center and the reception selling the entrance ticket (1€ for adult) and olive products like wooden kitchen wares and soaps (5€). There is no bathroom nor cafe around. Also, there is no taxi waiting for the tourist there. If you want a taxi ride back, you must ride it to get ther and ask him to wait for 5 min photo taking or so.

Take some time to visit Stara oliva (Old olive tree) near Stari Bar in Montenegro. It's said to be near 2000 years old and is indeed an ancient tree. Take some time to rest in the shade of olive trees and take in the views of nearby mountains. There are many olive producers nearby, where you can taste and buy some pretty decent olive oil. It's worth it.You have to pay a small fee to visit the park, but it's almost symbolical.

Maybe the quantity of this tree is impressive, maybe the age, but it is still only a tree. "Stara maslina" isn't a super-interesting thing to see. I recomend to not waste the time and go to see the ruins of Bar Old Town.

Really impressive and nicely done - tree seems to be in a good shape, looked after as such a precious piece should be. Little shop with olive oil products and memorabilia was a nice touch.

We stopped here on a tour which also included an olive oil factory and the old town. It was a nice old tree and supposedly according to our guide one of the 3 oldest in the world.

well, is amazing that the tree is 2000 years, but not to spend the whole day there....just stop on your way, take pay the euro to get in the park, take a picture and keep on walking.

The tree is located in a park which sets off the importance of olive trees locally. A small shop sells a few olive wood souvenirs.

.. разве что повезет сорвать мандарины из соседнего сада. Самые вкусные, что мы ели.Олива внушительная, ничего больше. Можно сфотографировать и впечатлиться, не платя за вход, снаружи. Стоит посетить, только если у вас есть машина или в рамках экскурсии.
