Lovely old building in centre of town, great to meet up with crazy shopperholics, they can shop while you look round the house. Free to get in and knowledgeable staff and info. placed about. Just the right size to do a touristy thing, look at the door door and trot off to the pub! I live in Hereford and go in quite regularly.

Situated right in the centre of town but not overly publicised this three-storey timber framed black and white house was moved to this location some years ago. You cannot fail to be impressed by its structure and contents. You would imagine this house to haver been occupied by somebody of status rather than those of more humble origin - originally a butcher. A must see attraction, along with the cathedral. Because of its age and construction it obviously has no disabled upstairs access.

Good for a city walk, plenty old houses with the old wooden house in the centre, not sure what it is, no signs, being extremely rich and beautiful. Also visit the cathedral.

This was an awesome wee surprise in the city centre. Lovely service behind the counter, and the museum itself was very interesting too. Great stuff.

Really interesting to walk round. Bigger than it looks - over 3 floors, laid out with furniture to help you imagine how it might have been originally.Staff are not at all pushy - there if you want to ask questions but if you just want to wander around they leave you to it, so you can spend ten minutes in there or an hour. And of course it is free!

Situated in the middle of one of the main streets in Hereford – High Town – you can hardly miss it. It is so obvious that most people ignore it yet it is one of the most fascinating gems in Hereford. It may be small but it encompasses much of Tudor life. The exhibits are enthralling and well annotated. There are opportunities for children to dress up and get involved with the exhibits. The staff (one) was very friendly and helpful. And it was free – excellent value!!!

The house has a long and proud history of serving the local people of Hereford. It has undergone many changes in not just occupation but uses being a butchers then several other incarnations, before being a Lloyds Bank. It has Jacobean features and has many lovely items on display. There was no charge for the museum so if you are in Hereford please make this one of your must see places.

Very well preserved old building with contemporary furniture and old pictures. Worth visiting when in Hereford but perhaps not for making a special trip.
