Perfect for walks, castle is amazing, to see the park you would need 5 hours at least. Restuarant only opens 28/03, coffee at book shop is very pleasant, volunteers are also very pleasant.

Culzean has a huge amount to comment it. Amazing house and surroundings. Wonderful grounds and gardens great to visit at any time of year with many hidden gems to discover. Don't miss the opportunity to visit if you can.

The castle and grounds are well worth seeing, but it is much better to go on a good day when you can take full advantage of the great views from the castle and really enjoy exploring the grounds and the nearby beach. Food can be rather expensive in the on- site cafeteria. If you are very unlucky, you might find that your trip coincides with a school outing so that the noise levels increase and the queues for the loos will seem endless. Wheelchairs are available for people who need them and disabled parking is very close to the castle entrance. However, you may find that you have to insist on getting as near as possible, as staff tend to want you to park MILES away. There is a lift in the castle so that you can access all levels. I have had better experiences taking a disabled relative on an outing - the National Trust for Scotland could take lessons from staff at other attractions. You spend so much on the entrance fees that you really need to have a whole day at Culzean to get value for money. Take a picnic.:-)

There is so much to view! Beautiful surroundings and it was a perfectly cold sunny day to explore the park . Loved the deer park and swan pond. The castle itself is mighty and garden with fountain is a delight. As we went out of season, the castle was closed.

Culzean country park and castle are first class, downside can be expensive for family visit if you are not a member of the NTS or the English branch (NT).The park is a classic garden of the have's and the castle is real Disney, except this is real not re-incarnation.Apart from the castle interior don't miss the gasworks and the stable block.USA President Ike had a flat here for his lifetime. The castle is Adam design and is a gem.

In the castle the children can look for the many Lego figures in the various rooms while you look around and its a great day out even just to walk around the swan pond and feed the ducks. Then the children can run around the play park.

The architecture of Robert Adam set in acres of woodland with stunning sea views across to the Isle of Arran. Dog friendly. Courtyard coffee shop and stables restaurant combined with craft outlets. The highlights are definitely the views the castle and the woodland walks combined with Swan Pond and shore access at most states of the tide. This is a great place to come and spend a day.
