Culzean castle and country park is jewel in the crown of National Trust For Scotland. Sitting majestically on the west coast of Scotland approx 14 miles from Ayr, the attractions range from Deer Park, Duck Pond, internal tours of the Castle, children's playground, nature walks, NTS & independent shops, cafe/restaurant, countryside and coastal walks, beach and rock scrambling. Best value is the folt ticket but best of all it's free entry for existing NTS members or you can join in the shop and have your entry fee refunded.

Culzean is a National Trust property and as such there are admission fees if you come by car. However, you can walk into the park free of charge from Maidens or Croy Shore,Excellent walks round cliff tops and round the lake. Good areas for family picnics, and good swings, shutes and other child friendly equipment. Castle is worth a visit at an extra charge. It is more of a mansion house than a fort. Special room once lived in by Eisenhower. Grounds boast beautiful border plants and there are glass houses. Restaurants are not cheap but good to visit.

I think the entry fee is too high but the place is outstanding and the rooms are splendid and the Adam stone work and the Eisenhower room with its live link to the White house with its red telephone well worth trying to visit the caves as well, where the smuggler's came ashore

Love this place. So many walks and so much fun to be had! We always stay away from the park as it gets mobbed!
