as this area is on the "sunny edge" (translation of sunnegga) you will quickly see the snow melting. in winter it is however a nice area - you must get used to a crowded "subway" transportation which does not give you much of mountain feeling - at the beginning.

Once again this gondola was across the road from our hotel which was very handy. The walkway which is a long tunnel is fine at the beginning of the day, but at the end of the day it really is the last thing you want to do especially with skis in hand.

The best track for begginners. People are friendly and very helpful. We had a lots of fun on it. The view is amazing as well as the people are friendly and very helpful.

You know everything about Sunnega already.... but what They dont tell you this when you ask for a ski pass is that IF you are only heading as far as Sunnegga which is the first main stop up the mountain then you dont have to buy the 92 Francs pass. You can simply use the 43 Francs Sunnega Pass. This is important if you are talking lessons because you are not really supposed to go higher than Sunnega anyway lol! and you get a stunning view of the Matterhorn from here anyway. There are excellent slopes and a good restaurant bar right outside the transit.Cheers

This is a begginer/children area for ski and snowboard. I went there to have my first snowboard lesson and it really good. There are 3 magic carpets where you can start learning with absolutely no fear. It's important so that you feel safe and confident about yourself. But 1 day there is enough, because is really easy. Don't spend 2 days in Sunnega, after few hours practicing, you will need something else. The highlight is that you have an amazing view from Matterhorn.
