I had a very interesting time in the Monaghan Country Museum. Everyone in town said it was the main attraction in Monaghan, it was a brif trip in the history of that part of world we call Ulster. I have learned a lot but unfortunatelly I had less time.

Went to see Juno & the Paycock as it is on this year's Leaving Cert course & my daughter was interested in seeing it. It was a very good production with the leads particularly good. Tiered seating and a comfortable cosy theatre - lovely.

Popped in to waste an hour and pleasantly surprised at this well organised and interesting experience. Learned a lot and will definitely plan to bring the kids next time.

Very well organised, great fun, fantastic atmosphere. I know it was a 40 years opening celebration, but could you do it every year?

If seeking information for one of your Monaghan relatives and/or ancestors, this is a great place to start. I received help with seeking my maternal grandmother's family and later paid for further in depth info which was sent to me months later.

Firstly it is free entry and holds a very interesting display through the ages which you progress through on your walk through the building. There is a separate display on Castle Leslie and the Leslie family which was also very informative. Finally Teresa was very helpful in looking up stuff and answering some of our questions on the area. All in all well worth a visit.

As an archaeologist I found the displays to be well done and highly informative for not only the professional but lay person as well

This is a good local museum with a wide range of well presented displays. The information about Castle Leslie and the Leslie family was particularly interesting as I was unaware of their story before my visit.
