Was interesting to see where the family went to church and the headstones in the churchyard. Monument to Claude Monet and other family members.

If you love learning a little history and a pleasant afternoon rich in history then this church is a wonderful pit stop. We visited on a tour around the town and its beautifully scenic.

Giverny, the village where Monet lived, the home of the beautiful gardens and pond - beautifully depicted in his Art. We spent a day there visiting Monet's house, the museum, church, cafes and wandered along beautiful cobblestone laneways. Friendly village cats and kittens were our companions everywhere we walked and visited. A day to remember always!

If you are visiting the grand cathedrals of France, this small village church is well-worth visiting for its differences. It is a simple, small town church, parts of which are 1,000 years old. Try to visit when there are no crowds and you can enjoy the quiet peacefulness. Be careful. In the center of the interior, the floor is actually a platform about 5 inches higher than the surrounding floor. If you are absorbed in the old architecture of the building, you may miss the step down.

We went mainly to see where Monet was buried. Monet's family plot was memorable and informative. It is a very old cemetery with some gravesites in disrepair. There were signs explaining their condition and the need for refurbishing.

This is a short walk from Claude Monet's garden and cottage. Claude Monet and some family members are buried here. The walk down a narrow road is peaceful and charming and just about when you think you're coming to the end, the parish appears on the right. It is small, charming, a peaceful and quiet site. All the crowds were at the gardens but very few venture to the opposite side of town. The family plot is on the hill as you walk up the path from the road, at the back of the parish.

look out for Monet's grave and the graves of the 5 RAF men. The church is plain compared to all the cathedrals that abound in France but that makes it all the more beautiful

We walked by around lunchtime and again at dusk. I wandered through the cemetery in the early morning. This is a well used community church and cemetery with much to see beyond Monet's grave.

While visiting Monet's garden & House we took time to walk away from here to see the rest of the village before moving on, and at the far end of the main road came across the village church which this late in the day was unfortunately closed.Entering the grounds we soon came across the Monet family plot and close by was a memorial to a WW2 Lancaster bomber crew who all perished on the night of the 7/8th June 1944. A propeller from the plane is part of the monument which stands in testimony to the crew who died for the liberty of the people of Giverny in their words.Walk further around the cemetery and you will come across the grave, containing all 7 crew with there details and photo's a very moving moment. The Church dates back to the 12th century and is named after the 6th century German-born Princess Radegonde, or Radegund in English. After being forced into a marriage with Clotaire the Frankish King, who also organized her brother’s murder, Radegund, daughter of the King of Thuringen turned to God and founded a nunnery in Poitiers. As it was heavily damaged during the liberation of Giverny in 1944, the Church underwent vast restoration work between 2008 and 2010.Worth a look as part of a Monet visit with such surprises and sadness.

While it is at the far end of town and a long walk on a hot day from the Monet Gardens we enjoyed being able to see the grave of the great painter. We hadn't realized there was also a memorial to an RAF bomber crew that perished near the town. That made for a reminder that not everything about the world is beauty as reflected in the gardens.
