I didn't like the fee if one doesn't buy a combined ticket with the Castle (combined ticket=18€; separate tickets: 15+10=25€)

It is good to walk around and enjoy the greenery. Just less crowded than other areas. good to wander and relax to enjoye the views

Sometimes the big-hitter attractions are a trite too packed for comfort. With this in mind we trotted Down Ave de Paris for about 20 minutes to arrive to this park that attracts locals, children and sans tourists. Sure its not as big as the Sun King's Playpen and grounds, not 800 acres but offers a Orangerie and wonderful grounds. We rented bikes and then tackled the ample kms of cultivated woods and tracks so well laid out skirting the waterways of Parc de Versailles. Its certainly away from the maddening crowds with curtesy and happy greetings hailed by everyone.

The house and gardens of Madame Elizabeth are a quiet place to reflect and stroll. Among the curiosities the garden has to offer are a grotto, Orangerie, poetic walkway (though the poems are only in French), a giant Bonsai tree from Madame Elizabeth's time, and the relatively modest house of Madam Elizabeth. If you have more than a day to spend in Versailles, it is certainly a pleasant stroll down Avenue de Paris.

If you are staying in Versailles for several days and you want a change of pace, and some respite from the crowds, then a leisurely 20 minute walk along Avenue de Paris will bring you to Parc du Domaine de Madame Elisabeth. You will only find locals in this park, with their children, and enjoying a gentle stroll or a picnic on the grass. While there are signs saying stay off the grass there is no-one in authority monitoring and the few people present are unlikely to cause any significant damage. There is a small uni-sex composting toilet at one of the park.

This place is a perfect example of something you stumble across during your European travels where you need to stop, and take in the incredible scenery, and just admire how amazing it is! When I was here I felt like I was in some sort of beautiful countryside side in the middle of France, not just on the outskirts of Paris!

A very big park. You have to spend some hours. Do not stop your trip to the Trianon Palace. Just continue to walk inside the Park. You will discover some old farm buildings, full of the colour and the architecture of the old french peasants, serving the Queen. It is like a bonus in your trip. I recommend it.

the younger sister of Louis XVI had a small castle, was too young to sleep overnight in it, but could visit during the day.the grounds are very pretty and can be seen almost every day. with luck , one mauy see the inside which is very pretty(furnitures/dresses etc)

Off the beaten track, the park of Louis the XVIth's sister's estate is an absolute delight. The main building is rarely open to the public but the orangerie holds regular (and free) exhibitions. There's a wonderful collection of beautiful old trees and a beautiful bee garden with bee hives.
