Whole place gorgeous. Architectural masterpiece. We hired a tablet with earphones which was a personal virtual tour. The Phantom of the Opera box is great to see too. Lots of photo opportunities, some might think a little over the top but I loved it

If you're into Baroque opera, there are few better places to see it than the Royal Opera at Versailles, simply because there are not all that many Baroque theatres of such outstanding beauty. This is the third season we've been, and it has always been an unforgettable experience for the music, the productions and the atmosphere. The theatre, which seems large, is actually designed on an intimate scale so that you can see and hear well wherever you sit. The Royal Opera has a large and varied program of operas and concerts throughout most of the year. The RER runs late enough so that you can get back to Paris after the performance without difficulty. The online booking is very efficient. The singers, musicians, dancers (there's always some ballet in these operas) are all top-flight. A really unique experience.

The structure is beautiful from both inside and outside. Taking the tour was great. It would be be good to see some performance, but there was none during the time we visited. But still an amazing place to visit.

We went there for a Rameau opera. It was a very special experience: the opera is beautiful, the acoustic is perfect, the room is small enough that everyone has a good view of the scene and musicians... It's like going back in time. The music was great and perfectly suited for this scene. I highly recommend it, a very special treat.

Just a small walk away for the Hotel, great atmosphere. Stay at the Trianon Palace hotel and have a great weekend break.

I took a tour to see the opera house after it closed to the public. It's worth it, small group, not to short, not to long. It's a must see in Paris.

We were fortunate to see this while doing a morning guided tour of the private apartments and the Opera house,(which you book on the same day). Would have loved to see a performance here but only used infrequently and was having some renovations done at the time.

What an opportunity - closing night of Persee at the Opera Royale de Versailles. Only ever performed once before - for Marie Antoinette on her wedding day. I mean, REALLY. A friend of mine was in the show - put on by opera atelier of Toronto. I sat in the first seat next to the stage. UNREAL. A night I will never forget for the rest of my life.
