A great collection of real treasures - from beautiful Cycladic pieces to a huge Fernand Leger mural done for Jean Badovici's house in the village. All in the beautiful old house of writer Romain Rolland.

So might expect not to much in such a small village but the collection has some fine works for a vist. Some Picasso's, Poliakoff, Ernst, Kandinsky, Da Sival, Giacometi, Duffy, Corbusier. Not the most important artworks of those famous names, but still nice to see. Intresting is also the collection of Zervos of archeological findings! As the entrance price is low, it's just fine for a visit.

This is a surprisingly lovely museum of modern art in a great building combining old stones and modern interior decoration. Very friendly personnel.The only drawback is the lack of information in English.

Thanks to an endowment this is a wonderful museum on the main street in Vezelay. While many of these artists are ones that I would not go out and seek, I found the museum to be top notch. It was worth the visit.

Who knew that in the midst of the charm of Vezelay sits this marvelous small museum with works by Leger, Le Corbusier, Laurens, Calder, Picasso, Kandinsky, Miro, and so many more. What a gem! Christian Zervos was an art critic with strongly held views. Artists donated works to help finance the Cahiers d'Art and the unsold works were bequeathed to Vezelay. Romain Rolland achieved public recognition with the publication of his Jean-Christophe novel cycle. In 1994, the Chancellerie des universites de Paris, the Vezelay municipality and the Conseil General de l'Yonne opened the museum and the writer's bedroom study. It is well worth a visit.

Une bonne présentation des peintures et sculptures sans amoncellement. Un lieu calme et riche du passé avec un regard actuel. Des exposition thématiques avec des explications claires .Une architecture et une restauration sobre mais riche en associations.

Le site a été fantastiquement restauré et propose sur 3 niveaux des œuvres de Hérion, Picasso, F. Leger, Miró... ainsi que la conservation de la chambre de Romain Rolland. Le site est calme et prête à la rêverie. La vue sur la plaine depuis le jardinet est également très agréable. A faire en famille!

A ne pas rater cette incroyable collection d'art moderne : Chagall, Picasso, Giacometti, Calder, Léger et j'en oublie ! Une vraie surprise, à ne pas rater !

C'est un petit musée dans l'ancienne maison de Romain Rolland. Beaucoup de peintres connus sont représentés avec des oeuvres données par eux à Zervoos. Très agréable visite à conseiller à Vezelay.

À ma grande honte je ne connaissais pas Zervos, et une fois le musée visité ma honte était encore plus grande. Un grand personnage sans qui l'art moderne serait sans douté différents. C'est Romain Rolland qui m'a attiré ici et l'idée qu'il a vécu ici vous suit tout au long de la visite et c'est très touchant. Les oeuvres ne sont sans doute pas les meilleures des artistes exposés, mais elles sont assez archétypiques. Les Calder sont très beaux.Le bâtiment a été rénové et la liaison entre les parties techniques du musée et la maison privée est très réussie.
