Cambrai suffered in both world wars. In the first it was German headquarters and part of the Hindenburg line. It was the site of the first tank battle in 1917. In the second World War it was also German Headquarters. German practice was to blow everything up when they left and this was the case with the centre of Cambrai where the Hotel de Ville stands. A magnificent building with a melodious clock which has marionettes which appear at the time of the chimes. The Hotel de Ville sponsors many exhibitions and you should take pot luck and see what is on when you visit this interesting town.

This fine late mediaeval building contains a superb Art Deco interior and, adjoining, a splendid Salle de Mariage with a magnificent chimneypiece.

Very interesting monument among an interesting town centre. A pleasure to visit with the children. St Quentin also has an artificial beach for the pleasure of the children.

We did not actually go into the town hall but whilst eating in the square we were entertained by a superb carillon concert.

The whole square has been turned into a giant beach with sand and swimming pools and swings and other activities for the children which means the adults can sit in the square, enjoy themselves and keep an eye on the children. There were superb facilities for the 6 weeks of summer for the children of Saint Quentin

Reflet de la ville de Saint Quentin la partie administrative est plutôt pas mal.Comme dans toutes les mairies il faut prendre son mal en patience! La salle pour les mariages est plutôt bien!

bien que non programmée par l'office du tourisme, notre guide a fait ouvrir pour nous, la salle du conseil, la salle de réception et des mariages ......des boiseries superbes, un escalier art déco, une façade exceptionnelle de finesse .....une excellente découverte puis la basilique et le centre -ville Art Déco.Trois bonnes raisons de quitter l'autoroute qui passe à proximité pour découvrir un centre-ville très riche. Grand merci à notre guide, passionnante et passionnée, choisie par l'OT

Un très beau monument à visiter de préférence avec un guide. Par exemple en profitant des journées du patrimoine. Le commentaire est d'un grand intérêt.

die stad is erg mooi en de moeite waard om te bezoeken.Het is er gezellig en er zijn mooie pleinen en winkels. Prachtige oude gebouwen en kerkjes.
