The interior is superb, this is an historic building and harks back to bygone era. The cost of entry is very reasonable compared to many so called high quality Opera houses in the cities such as London or Paris. The local orchestra were great. Well worth a visit.

This has the most beautiful interior. We bought tickets to the ballet which was excellent and so reasonable compared to London prices. It was a wonderful experience and just to sit inside this lovely building

L'Opera de Vichy is the cultural hub of Vichy, where one is presented with an array of very good musical performances. I suggest that you refrain from selecting a box if your party is more than three, since the boxes are small and do not comfortably accommodate more adults even though they have four chairs. Its setting takes one back to an early time, affording one with its cultural charms. Its grandeur, however, has been somewhat diminished over the passage of time, leaving it in a somewhat more causal ambiance than it once was. But this is unimportant and easily eclipsed by the statue of its performances. By all means, do not neglect to take in its splendid offerings when your find yourself in Vichy.

A great building with a long history. Really exciting to be in such a lovely setting for a concert or play. Concerts by a local orchestra (e.g. l'Orchestre d'Harmonie de Vichy) are great value at around 10 euros per ticket. Operas, plays and concerts by national orchestras are very expensive and the pricing results in a high average age of audience.

This is a wonderful sight to see and we always take the opportunity to take international visitors to the Opera house, if only to see the outside. It is well worth taking the tour internally or catching a show here. (although pick wisely as the performances can be a mixed bag)

Amazing architecture, paintings and fabrics. To see an old opera house with wooden seats, wooden floors and beautiful fabrics is rare.

I was in the opera to see a ballet show. It was very unique experiance! There are 3 levels where you can sit (2 balconys) and private boxes. I sat in the first level and saw the show reasnobly. On the break you can buy ice cream ( i found it unique to an opera). The building itself is really impressive outside and inside. As i know you cant visit the inside of the opera alone.. only if you buy ticket to a show or orgenaized group.

Vichy opera house is in the grand design of the majority of Europe's opera houses the internal decorations and facilities are in keeping with the design and comfort associated with this architecturally beautiful city. The opera presentation is extremely good, and boasts it's own orchestra. The orchestral players are good, unfortunately no stage design, but of course the singers are commensurate with what people would expect, not world leaders, but the presentation is always quite dramatic.If you are an Opera Fan it is not to be missed in season, and in my opinion would rank with any that you would find in France, other than PARIS.

A classic theatre house of the belle époque, that provides a sumptuous but intimate environment. We went ot a performance of extracts from the operas of Offenbach (a sophisticated version of Gilbert and Sullivan) which was ideally suited to the environment. Vichy is well worth walking around. Our problem was finding somewhere to eat before the opera started and in the end had a hurried and somewhat expensive meal.

The internal structure of the Vichy opera house is amazing for a small city like Vichy. This is something I would have only expected to find in a large European city, but it is fabulous to find it in a small city in France. It also gives a great small community feel to the experience of attending the opera. As an English speaking person, I did struggle to follow the opera "Barber of Seville", as the opera itself was in Italian and the translation obviously in French, but it was great to just listen to the music and sit in this wonderful hall.
