If you’re not the most body confident person or really just don’t fancy getting your kit off in front of strangers, then this might be the bath house for you since it only has private rooms. These baths are located under the domes in the square, where you’ll descend into a subterranean underworld with a blue hue. Most of the rooms are covered with royal blue tiles, giving these baths a calming feel. The rooms come at a variety of prices depending on how big you want them and for how many people. You can get smaller rooms for two people to one for a party of 10. Some even come with a relaxation room decked out with couches and sofas.

One of the most attractive places in Tbilisi for visitors, where Tbilisi started. Balconies, narrow streets, baths houses, bakeries. Amazing!!!

Please note that they're not all the same baths--this area is the traditional sulphur bath area, but there are multiple bathhouses operating in the neighborhood. I chose oberliani, because it was listed as one of the more beautiful baths and was not as expensive as royal. However, it was being repaired at the time. My advice: do your research first, and choose which boathouse you'd like to visit first. It is difficult to find the specific baths, but locals can help guide you.

Best place in Tbilisi for relaxation. Traditional sulfur base for a centuries gives a wonderful attraction for tourists and local citizens well. Would strongly recommend to every tourist to visit Abanotubani sulfur base at least once during their stay in Tbilisi....

if you like sulphuric waters you must go and visit (not necessarily have a bath) these old baths houses. Some are renewed and quite clean. For a very cheap price (50 lari) one can get full spa treatment.

This is a unique experience, get up-close with a Georgian masseuse. Definitely took me back at how open folk are. The bath was hot and steamy, the massage was great. Cheap and cheerful.

I realize I don't really enjoy bathhouses where I don't know the procedure. I've gone to Hammam in Turkey, I lived in Japan and used the public baths on a regular basis, so I don't mind being naked around strangers, but... I just couldn't find enough information about what to expect, or what was expected of me, so we only looked in. Too expensive and too funky, please, one or the other. They are beautiful on the outside, and the area around is nice, especially the walk that winds up the little canyon. It was getting dark so we didn't venture too far, too dark and isolated, but beautiful. And to be in the very spot that is the reason for the town beginning, that was interesting.

On a good side, you would be very clean once you get out of there ;)On a bad side:- Had to wait for almost 40 minutes, although we did the booking in advance- Sauna is not warm enough - you can sit there for 15 minutes easily w/o sweating- Massage for males is rather tough even in the "light" version & the guy doing it doesn't care about your feedback :) Don't recommend to take it in case of scoliosis or similar health issues

We spent a very relaxing hour here. We paid 50 Lari for the royal experience and it was worth it. We also had a very relaxing scrub and massage for an extra 20 Lari per person. I would say that a visit to T'bilisi is not complete without a visit to the baths!

This is a nice area: a park, the baths, some cafes and restaurants, the mosque and a hidden cascade behind. Nice to take some time to discover and not rush.
