Maybe little old but punctual, safe and cheap and these are the most important things! Buy a card and charge it, one ticket costs 0,50 lari. Probably best way to travel in Tbilisi.

I cannot say, that Metro is my favorite transport anywhere in the world, but usually it's the best choice for transportation. Same in Tbilisi. Metro is not most comfortable transport, but for sure it's cheap, fast and safe, and you know for sure, where is the next station. Metro Maps and directions available inside in English. It covers most of the active city, except Vake district. To use the metro, you need to by travel card in Metro stations, which is rechargeable on any metro or bus station, and also usable in bus. Price of the card is 2 GEL, you charge it with any amount you need, and each transaction costs 50 tetri only.

Simply Tbilisi Metro is the best method of Transportation in Tbilisi !Safe, Easy, Fast, Clean (to some extent) .the system is real good ... with escalators and the staff monitoring it all the time and even the police is on the station and platform levels all the time !

I loved the Metro in Tbilisi. I used it to go everywhere!!! Even late at night. Unlike the Yerevan metro, the Tbilisi metro even has signs in English and the speakers have English language too. Clean, nice and efficient.

The Metro in Tbilsi dates back to Soviet era. All the halls are exactly as you find in St Petersburg, Moscow etc. Efficient and regular service and not expensive. What amazed me was that before each station there is an announcement - first in Georgian and then in English!! Tavissuplebniis Moedani ... suddenly becomes, next stop Freedom Square. I liked that very much! Like all Metros some stations are more crowded than others - Station Square for example where two lives converge - but it is far from daunting for the traveller.

Tbilisi metro works well, and gets you about very quickly - assuming your destination is close to a station. You need a metro card, which is very cheap. Individual journeys are also very cheap.Stations are very deep - a long ride on the escalator - but the trains come very quickly. Everything is very clean, but it looks like a long time since there was any refurbishment. It has a slightly tired look.

The Tbilisi metro provides a very good service at a very low cost. I used it quite a bit on my visit there, and found it a very efficient way of getting about - providing your destinations are served by it (it doesn't cover the whole city). The stations and the trains are a bit dated, and could do with a facelift or a lick of paint. They still have the appearance of the old Soviet transport system.

Getting a transport card takes all of five minutes, and the price is cheap. No way to end up on the wrong side of the tracks, and an assistant is in a box at the bottom of the escalator to help you find your way. The stops are loud and clear, and spoken in Georgian first, then English. A great way to get around.

if you don't push yourself into (and out from ...) the trains you have a slight chance of getting in. no body waits till people get down, they'll push you if they need to..not much of place to hold if you don't get a sit..

The Tbilisi metro was really cool to see especially if your from the US. I was amazed by how fast the escalators move. You really have to hold on, but it was awesome. It stops at all the great sights. Some of the trains seem a lot older than others, but still not bad.
