What attracted me here was the old world historic setting, and the price is right for a solo traveler on a budget. I'm trying to do more things on my own and it served as a great inspiration for some things I'm working on as a little side project (I'm a fiction/ copy writer and graphic designer by trade). I'll definitely be back with some of my friends. I had a very memorable time here.

This is a beautiful location and the cable car ride there is great (caution: it's a bit of a hike from the cable car stop). Views are spectacular, and I'm going to say even better than from the top of the funicular. HOWEVER, the poets and artists buried there are national figures of Georgia and therefore--look up who is there first, especially if you're unaware of Georgian literature or cannot read Georgian. Otherwise, it's not as interesting. Georgians will assume everyone knows the individuals buried there, but many are pretty obscure to westerners. Regardless- a good place to check out.

I loved the view from the park. It's amazing. Some of you may enjoy attractions as well. But I simply prefered walking there in silence.

I like the view of the city and a nice little church with the graveyard. Stalin's mother was buried here during the soviet time... interesting place to come.

amazing and unique view from the restaurant but not impressed by the food. Quite easy to reach via the funicular.

Nice to visit in your spare time. Historically correct and cable car enjoyable. Once up there, stroll around and take pics of an aerial view.

A wonderful, huge park. It has rides for kids and lush green walkways to relax. Then a beautiful restaurant to end your visit.

An interesting place to see if you know who is buried there. Griboyedov's grave is easy to find underneath the church itself. Be aware that the upper gate is closed so you have to traipse down even further to the lower gate to get in. And then all the way up again to reach the funicular station.

It is definatly worth to start visit in Tbilisi from tour to Mtatsminda. You wil have a great view of the city, you can also enjoy good food overlooking Tbilisi. In half of the way by funiculor it is wirth to stop and see the nice church, local pantheon and grave of Russian writer Grobojedov, who married to Georgian lady Chavchavadze. Take some time to read about their history in advance and make your trip more cultural. It is interesting!!!!Walking down to Rustaveli avenue takes 15 minutes.
