This is my first way to something like this. Feeling is like you are on top of world. When you up is like you in cloud, and its little colder than down on 2000m. On top you can eat something in Riffugio Maria or drink some tea with rum to warm your bodies. I think that people who came to Dolomiti and must go to Terassa of Dolomiti.

We were staying in the Hotel Veronza were told there that we must not miss the chance to see Sass Pordoi so with friends that had popped over from Germany we drove about an hour there to see what it was all about. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather, fine and clear. The road trip we were also told was one in 5 in the world that is a must do. How right they were for although distance is not far it is a windy road with lots of hairpins and alpine townships that you pass through. The scenery is fantastic with one better view after the other appearing around the next corner. Finally you make it to the foot of Pordoi where you gaze up in wonder at where the cable car disappears to the top of the mountain. We just do not have anything like this in Australia. We have the best beaches in the world coral reefs, fishing etc, things just as good but different. The view up the mountain on the cable car is truly spectacular with snow capped ranges appearing in the distance as you get close to the summit. Once at the top you have an almost 360 deg view. There are walks up the top to an even higher point and NO SKIING as no safety rails. There is a restaurant at the top and where is there not one in Europe in remote places like this. Words are hard to say what we were seeing there, it was just spectacular. This is a must place to go and may even be better in the winter.

Pordoi is the place to come for serious FREERIDE.Not for beginners or intermediates.ADVANCED ONLY.Best to take a guide until you know your way around. If you are lucky to get fresh powder - ranks with the best in the world.Plenty to do for more than a week

if you are in the area and the weather is sunny and clear take the cable car right upto the top of the mountain. the air is clear and the views are fantastic from all directions. it might be a little cold up top so make sure you have enough clothing . you may see some people actually climbing up to the mountain , and others para gliding from the top .there is a restaurant on the top and a bar.it cost 16.- euros in the cable car which is only about 10 minutes ride .almost 3000 meters high.

While on a recent day trip through the Dolomites, we stopped at Passo Pordoi and made the Funivia Trip to the top. It was a very clear day and the views from the top, as well as the trip up and down were just short of amazing. There is a cafeteria style restaurant at the top and we enjoyed a light lunch with an amazing view. There are a few shops at the bottom of the Funivia so be sure to allow at least a couple of hours for your stay. If feeling energetic and have time to commit, there are hiking trails to the top.

This place is worth a visit. If you are traveling with your own or a rental car its nice way to see beautiful villages on the way up.Road tot he cablecar station is good and there is plenty of parking space.Be sure to take warm clothing with you because it could be chilly up there. What a view!

We visited Passo Pordoi in June and opted not to use the funivia as it was great weather and we wanted to trek up to the Rifugio. The trek was more difficult that we thought, though manageable in the end. The funivia takes you a bit higher than the Rifugio and puts you in a great spot for views and further trekking in the entire area.Although we did not use the Funivia to go up, we definitely used it coming down, and was a great convenience as we could explore the area around passo Pordoi without needing to reserve energy for the trek down.Prices are very reasonable, and there is a good restaurant at the top of the funivia where one can spend some time relaxing and admiring the views.

We traveled by motorcycle and the climb and descent were very challenging and beautiful. I've done it on a bicycle and it's a great climb on either! There are souvenir shops at the top along with some good cafes.

Taking the swift and comfortable cable car to the top rewards you with the most fantastic views imaginable; rugged peaks, green valleys and towns far below. Not to be missed
