Not open on a Saturday and does not have the New Zealand flag flying, disappointing considering the New Zealanders that died in the conflict

The museum isn't big but very charming, with very friendly staff. I think it has all the main artifacts you would expect in an archaeological museum but you don't get overwhelmed by it. It's a nice experience on your way to the monastery or back.

we liked especially archaeological park - enjoyed visit to amphitheater. Pity they didn't get funds to cut the gras and keep all place nice - we couldn't visit necroply. Also pity theater is owned by the town and used for the cultural events, so was closed when we were there

The museum gives another dimension to any visit to Cassino as you will learn about its Roman and pre-Roman origins. While there are certainly more impressive examples to be found all around Italy, The amphi-theatre and theatre are still worth a look if you have a an hour or two up your sleeve. They hold concerts in the former if you are in the town for a while.

Tutto ben tenuto e personale cordiale e preparato.
