Recently renovated the fountain is located in the centre of town. Worth a stop for a photo op. Located close to the grammar school and other sights.

Whilst the fountain is a major site to visit in this charming little town (of great import to Serbians, as it was the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Habsburg Monarchy) make sure to visit the restaurant of the same name on the corner opposite. A typically old fashioned tavern serving good old fashioned fare, with a wide selection of fish dishes their apparent speciality. The smudj (pike-perch) is excellent and local beer to accompany it is very inexpensive. Fish and fish soups are abundant in this area (ask for riba) and always splendid value),Another good eating place is a shack with no name on the left just past the railway line going from the main square towards the Danube. No menu is provided, no English spoken, but "supa" or "chorba riba" will give you a large bowl of mixed fish soup, and if you wnat a mixed platter of fish as a main course "riba" and "mix" with some arm waving will give a large platter of mixed fish. Good old fashioned no frills food served with a friendly smile, and cheap to boot.

The 4 Lions of Sremski Karlovci, while not being the most interesting fountain ever, is considered one of the most important landmarks of the village. it is belived that if you drink from it(the water is really good, no worries) you will come back. Sremski Karlovci is a beautiful small village just next to the Dunav and at about 10 minutes(by bus) from Novi Sad. The town's square is quite big and exploding with flowers, and has a number of attractions like the Orthodox church(one of the most important of Serbia) and it's Catholic counterpart just next to it. There's also an orthodox seminar and a number of bars and restaurants with terraces that offer a really good service for a very low price. Keep in mind that I visited this town at the end of september and had to wear short sleeves for most of the time... Lots of sun! Towards the end of september they have a ""Wine Fest", because this part of Serbia is famous for it's wine. During this festival the local producers try their best to convince you to buy their product, and I must admit they either are very skilled or the wine was simply GOOD! If you are staying there for a few days, you might want to go to the hotel next to the Dunav, that also has a nice bar and pooltables! When visiting Serbia, keep in mind that while most people don't speak any english, they tend to be helpful to the point of embarassment(what have I done to be treated so well???). This might be due to the fact that most of the tourism there is from other countries of the Balkans and western europeans are seen as a rarity.

The Four Lions is standing in the central street of Sremski Karlovci. It was builit in 1799, and it signifies the end of public water system. If you pass The Four Lions, go streight, on the left you will see the oldest Serbian highschool, opened in 1971. The school is named by Branko Radicevic, student who became one of the most famous Serbian poets.

Сам фонтан сам по себе не представляет из себя чего-то выдающегося, но если рассматривать его как часть красивейшей площади, то он великолепен.Возле фонтана можно сидеть долго долго, наслаждаясь великолепной архитектурой, там же (не отрываясь от осмотра достопримечательностей) можно и прикупить магнитики.Естественно из фонтана необходимо попить водички.

Находится на центральной площади городка - мимо точно не пройдете. Был построен еще 1799 году в рамках открытия первой системы водоснабжения города. Архитектор фонтана был итальянцем. Существует такая примета - кто выпьет воды из фонтана, тот обязательно вернуться в этот город и жениться/выйдет замуж. Я воды не попил)))

Один из самых интересных фонтанов в Сербии. Располагается в центре города. Самое удачное место, чтобы отдохнуть и насладиться окружающей обстановкой. В выходные здесь довольно много народу, поэтому советую сделать это в будни дни. Мы просидели около часа - довольно романтично провели время. Рядом располагается храм и католический собор, которые тоже надо изучить.

Интерес представляет не столько фонтан, сколько площадь, на которой он расположен. Это центральная (и довольно обширная) площадь городка, окружённая красивыми зданиями и частично заставленная столиками кафешек. Посидеть здесь с чашкой любимого напитка или просто в сквере на лавочке -- занятие приятное и умиротворяющее. По крайней мере, не в высокий туристический сезон.А фонтан как фонтан, ничего особенного. Только интересно, отчего он так популярен в Сербии? Даже его "тёзка" из Белграда не имеет столько упоминаний и фото в Сети.
