If you want a quick shot at seeing Roman ruins then this is your place. It has a theatre, an agora (with remains of temples), a smallish villa and across the road i think there is even a palace. The place is certainly not on the regular tourist agenda (as with most of the region probably). this place has no entry tickets. there are houses right on top of the theatre. you can go right inside and actually play a cameo on the stage. it is also the most elevated position amongst the ruins and gives a top down view of the others as well as a gorgeous view of the highway snaking away and the azure blue mediterranean. access to the theatre is pretty easy as there is an old stone road / pathway that leads up to it (about 20 steps though and at an incline that is not too difficult). the adjoining site is the agora. this has some nice mosaics and the remains of a temple and fountain. the mosaics are the highlight here if you ask me. the agora and the ampitheatre are on one side of a small side road and across it is the villa. access to the villa is a bit restricted but then you can see the mosaics there too from afar. there are information boards that give quite a bit of information. the site is right up on the side road and just next to the highway. no entrance fee again. while we were there a newly married couple came along for their marriage pics. apart from that we were the only ones around. across the highway there was a larger ruin that might have been a palace or a fort. overall a nice place. should be must see for someone who has not seen roman ruins earlier. a quick fix for the same.

This is the best place to go if you just want a quick experience to view some spectacular ruins. The ruins of a basilica, temple, and theater are located right off the main highway of D-400! It comes up quick because it’s tucked behind a bend to the right on the coastal road. Turn into the ruins and park along the road where you can. –It’s a bit amazing to see that this destination is prime real-estate being it’s someone’s front yard which also overlooks the Mediterranean Sea! The basilica has the remains of a mosaic tile floor and what looks like plumbing for baths or fountains. The theater has a slab of rock with Greek words carved in it. You can also climb the stairs to get entry inside the theater and walk around the stage and climb around the many levels of stairs and seats. Currently part of the temple is being excavated and restored. It does not cost anything to visit this site. If you continue to drive up the road through the homes, you’ll discover the area was once a necropolis and the new locals have incorporated some of the sarcophagus’ into their homes or yard. Approx. 10-15 mins up the road past an even smaller village is a small village. Located in the middle of it to the left is the remains of a byzantine church and part of its domed ceiling and carvings of Celtic looking crosses. East of the village is a crater that may be interesting to hike out to. Across the street is located the Palace. Entry into the palace itself is not allowed and it’s fenced. There is a park connected to it that cost 10 Lira per car to enter. From the park you can walk around the fences to get views through the fence into the place. If you follow the beach around the back of the palace the peninsula opens up to sand dunes! In the middle of the dunes are the half buried ruins of a byzantine church. Following the beach east –away from palace you’ll find stairs carved into the rock going down to the water and the remains of a temple located on the cliff side but these are also fenced in. A bath house is located down the path from the temple around the corner on the edge of the rock side and field. This too is fenced in due to excavation and restoration. The bath house shows the remains of intricate plumbing work and mosaics.

Totally deserted and amazing. We had it all to ourselves and visited in the evening when it was cooler. A perfect visual journey of how one civilization builds over another. Perfect Roman mosaics, unearthed, having been covered by a Byzantine Church. A wonderful small amphitheatre. History was just pouring out of this place.
