We tour this museum with an Interceptor. The signs were in Ukraine only. It had a great detail of artifacts. You had to pay extra to take pictures.

Ukraine is a very diverse country and this museum is a good proof for this. Probably one of the best ethnographic museums in the country. Even if you are not interested in such kind of activities I think you will find visit to this museum as time well spent. I would especially recommend it if planning some additional activities in the Ukrainian Carpathians (hiking, biking etc.) - due to this museum you will be able to understand the area better. What amazes me is the fact that most of the stuff presented here can be found in everyday life in nowadays Carpathians.Exhibition is very well organized - divided into sections: musical instruments, utensils, wood carving, clothing, ceramics, metalwork etc. In most of the rooms you will find information about items presented there and this information is in ENGLISH, however it is recommended to find a professional guide (ask at the museum reception or at the hotel you are staying) - that will make your experience just better. ATTENTION!!! They would charge you 50 UAH extra if you want to use your camera inside of the museum - on my opinion that is too much and also most of the items are hidden behind glass windows which reflects and it will be just very difficult to get pictures of a descent quality. At the reception they sell booklets about the museum - pretty good printing quality with professional photographs, English text and that will cost you 30 UAH only.

Из двух музеев города мы выбрали этот, думая что на оба не хватит энтузиазма. Так что сравнить не смогу, но Музей Гуцульщины большого впечатления не произвел.В собрании музея представлены образцы народных промыслов, мебель, одежда и утварь региона в основном 19 века, изредка попадаются более ранние образцы. Для погружения в гуцульскую культуру полезно (мы как раз только въезжали в регион), но надо сказать что я ожидал большего.
