This was probably THE highlight of my trip to South America. The tour of the museum was absolutely fascinating and our guide Steve did an amazing job at explaining everything. Afterwards it got even better: Instead of just being shown constellations we were taught how to use telescopes ourselves and then given the opportunity to put that knowledge to use. The group was nice and small (only two people on each telescope) and Steve could easily answer every question about the universe I could come up with. I wish I could give more than 5 stars - full recommendation!

We had a French Tourguide, Aurelie, who spoke excellent English and gave us a very interesting tour. all our questions were answered and she spoke with great passion in a very understandable language for us, who didn't know much about it before the visit. The museum holds some exclusive pieces and it is very well set up. An absolute recommendation during your stay in Atacama. It's easily accessible in short walking distance from the Caracoles main street.

This place is completely unorganized with scheduling of stargazing tours. I came early in the afternoon to inquire about a tour. I was told by one of the staff to return at 6 pm, as there would be space available. Once I arrived, I was told by another staff member that there were no available spaces for the tour that evening, and that the tour was only available in Spanish. I then asked when an English tour would be available. The staff person had no idea. After leaving to check, I was told by the staff person that an English tour would not be for a couple of days. I was furious with the museum over their disorganization. They should know when they are hosting tours for which language groups and communicate accordingly. I adjusted my travel plans based on what they communicated to me. The miscommunication caused me to miss out on a big part of my experience in Atacama.

My girlfriend and I were blown away. A very intelligent and well spoken tri lingual guide (I forget her name in French, but it translated to Lily) walked us through and explained every exhibit. The information was very interesting and explained very understandably. The museum is small, but the layout, presentation and exhibits are phenomenal. It would be a huge mistake to miss it.

A very interesting museum. If you are lucky with the weather (no clouds) you can visit it first and then go to observe the stars. It is probably the best place in the world to see them !

This was a must see as far as I was concerned, the little place has meteors of different types with brilliant detailed descriptions of meteor AMD planet formations in English. The lady who explained these things again to us was very friendly and the chance to handle meteors was brilliant, of course we wandered through the desert looking in vain for our own the rest of the trip.....Lovely little 1/2 hour, it is closed 1-6pm though!! Bit random!

This is a nice visit to do during a hot day in San Pedro. It takes about 20 mins, with a dozen different meteorites on show. There was no guided tour available when we were there but the woman there was taking time to answer all questions that we had and she was very knowledgeable. There's one type of meteorites you can touch inside as well as a couple of exhibits outside. Interesting and worth the 2,500 pesos.

We just followed the signs, not very convinced to be honest, but we discovered a very interesting little museum, guided by its owner and also meteorite "hunter". A very clear step by step explanation about different kinds of meteorites and also about the origen of the solar system. A must in San Pedro.

My friend and I speak fairly basic spanish so we didn't follow everything the guide said but he was extremely helpful and eager to help and explain things. All of the displays do have English translation though so we were able to understand most of it. It is a nice small museum on the edge of town and I woupd definitely recommend a visit.

it is a very interesting and well done museum. It was totally unexpected to find it there. The exhibition is great with unique pieces, discovered by the owner of the museum (he searched for meteorites in the desert, found many, has a big collection in another place, and create this museum in order to show some of these interesting pieces for visitors, like us!) we had a great and super interesting time visiting it. The lady who takes care of the museum is also an excelent guide, she explained many interesting curiosities about the pieces in exhibition there, and also about the interesting videos. We spent a lovely time discovering all our guide could tell us about meteorites and stars and galaxies etc. I really recomend it.
