Visit the museum here and wander the ruins. The video of the history is amazing! Only 1000 pesos to go into the museum. Lots of minerals and rocks as well as artifacts on display

Learn about many things in a fun way. Don't miss the audiovisual show (20 minutes). There is a small fee to enter but the visit is worth the money

The ruins are not that old, and are from a silver melting factory of the time Antofagasta was part of Bolivia. The ruins blend quite nicely with the environment, and are well preserved. One can not climb or explore them. At the base there is a museum that host a nice, but rather small, collection of minerals and fossils.There is also a nice display, created by ESO, about astronomy in the region.

Hunachaca Ruins – ruins are the structural foundations of a Silver Metallurgical processing plant co-owned by Bolivia, Chile and Britain, completed in 1893. At maximum capacity it could process 220,000 pounds of ore per day, producing 44,000 of refined silver per month. Only nine years of operation. High cost of production, low price of silver, flooring of mines. We didn't tramp around the site or visit the museum but just viewed from the courtyard.

Unas ruinas de una vieja fabrica de Plata de mas de 100 años, bien conservadas y con un museo del desierto que vale la pena recorrer. donde se encuentra desde fósiles, minerales y el modulo que viajo a marte. Ideal ir con niños o adolescentes.

Visitar las ruinas de huanchaca es una bonita experiencia, hay una linda vista, y algunos locales de comida cercanos por la parte de arriba (coviefi), sin embargo es un lugar que se enrejó y ahora posee un museo en la parte baja frente al casino, y es un lugar para una visita corta, sin embargo es un bonito paseo para una tarde/noche

Interesante el cambio que sufre la ciudad en la zona, las ruinas destacan sin duda pareciendo incluso mas antiguas de lo que son. Un lugar muy importante para los comienzos de la explotación minera, pese a no durar muchos años en funcionamiento

Si bien es un lugar que destaca, podrían sacarle mas provecho, está poco cuidado y falta una atención que guíe mejor la visita

Es un lugar precioso que impresiona a los turistas, tiene un museo e imagenes historicas que encantarian a todo aquellos que le guste la historia local de antofagasta

El acceso a las ruinas es gratuito y cuenta con un museo al cual se accede cancelando un ticket de ingreso. Totalmente recomendable.
