We went there for a special exhibition on an Italian explorer of the south American subcontinent and also had the opportunity to visit the permanent collection, which is quite interesting. Several Paraguayan artists have their work exhibited here and it is definitely worth visiting

One of the best museums I've ever been to, fascinatingly laid out with art from the Jesuit period next to modern art, perfectly showing the links between ancient and modern Paraguayan culture and one of the few places in the country where you'll be able to appreciate those links. The only place I've been to like it was an exhibition at the British Museum curated by Grayson Perry. I don't see why museums are normally so afraid of jumbling up time periods.Has far better quality Jesuit art than any of the museums in Missiones and unlike them will actually give you a sense that the country has continued developing after the Jesuits were thrown out in the late-1700s.Really needs to do a better job of promoting itself, though, or at least get a sign on the nearby main road pointing out where it is.Will take about 45 minutes by bus from the old town and well worth it. Had a great shop of original art too and when I was there had a man selling some fantastic fruit juices and breads on site but don't know if they're permanent

You need to speak Spanish to get much from this. The museum isn't laid out well and the exhibits seem mixed. For example, one room will have (literally) hundreds of Jesus and./or Mary figurines and the next will have modern art.All in all a good diversion if you have nothing to do, but if you skip this you really haven't missed anything. The museum is set back a little from the main street. The side street to get there looks a little like an alley.

From the few things to do in this city this one was the most interesting and entertaining. Is kind of difficult to reach the place so always look for the Marlboro big and modern building nearby.

It's a place very unique. When i was there, it's another world. It's very interesting to see different arts

Not too special and a bit out of the way, but also free and with a few decent enough exhibits. It's worth going on a lost morning or afternoon. But keep in mind the museum's erratic opening times. Currently only Tuesday afternoon, from 3:30 till 8, and from Wednesday to Saturday in the mornings until 12pm and then from 3:30 onwards.

It's free, it has a lot of indigenous artifacts, plenty of artwork. Located in a pretty area of Asuncion, very close to Shopping del Sol. There is no reason not to go!

The museum holds a wealth of traditional Paraguayan culture. The clay sculptures are worthy watching. There are days in the week when entrance is free.

The museum is very nice, well organized and interesting. It´s free! hard to find, Best way is to take a taxi. It´s a pity there is no book about the museum at the shop.

This museum has a spectacular collection, whether you like indigenous or popular art, or modern art. It's free, and there was practically no one when I went, I had the place to myself. It's a bit difficult to find, out of town in a back road, but well worth it
