This is such a cool idea and I hope it catches on in more cities across the world. There were so many interesting street performers and activities to see and it was all free! If you are in Bogota on a Sunday you should not miss the Ciclovia.

Every city should do this! Block off a section of downtown city streets for several hours on a Sunday morning and let everyone get out to bike, board, skate, run or otherwise stretch their legs. Bogota has the right idea on this!

i had heard of this sunday "happening" before i came to bogota, but i didn't get it until i saw it in action. what a great feeling it was to be part of a city on foot or rollers or bikes. i reccommend staying in bogota for a sunday to take part.

Rent a bike or pick one of the city-sponsored ones! You´ll feel like a real Bogotano, and bring some pesos tucked away for all the snacks and drinks you get along the way! A beautiful global trend of cicolvias that started first in Bogota! Bravo! Go, and put on some shorts!

This is the one everyone tries to emulate. Fun to watch. Great energy. If you like to jog definitely get out there and enjoy the fun.

I run along Carrera 7 each Sunday (and holidays too). What a great idea Ciclovia is, and way ahead of other major cities. It's a great way to see the city, and there's plenty of bike repair stations, and places to refresh with juices, Gatorade, etc. Very well managed.

This was great fun. You got to see the city free of cars. Also lots of street art, comedy, fruit sellars, music, outdoor aerobics etc to see.A great spectacle, just beware the pedestrains who wander all over the road too.

If you want to tour around the city without dealing with the crazy traffic, go cycling. You can rent bikes downtown or you can get some for free along the 26 AV (near Gran Estación Mall.) You can also meet people and practice aerobics at National Park (Carrera 7 with 39.) If you need directions, there are always friendly people around, especially the ciclovía guides. If you do not know how to ride a bike, they even offer free training courses. There are no excuses!

Rent or borrow a bike, and go all over Bogotá at your own pace. It's the cheapest and safest way to visit La Candelaria and other Centro attractions. Get orange juice along the way, make your way back North to Usaquén for lunch, and stay with the crowds to people watch.

But lots of inexperienced riders. Nice for a tour around the city but limited speeds due to the mix of joggers, skaters, dogs and weaving cyclists.
