Great museum and a good choice to educate yourself on one hand in Colombian history but also in Colombian art. The exposure area is very nice and if you don't speak Spanish the informations are also aviable in Spanish.

Many types of paintings, drawings and other art forms. There are also archaeological findings on display, very interesting. It took about an hour to walk through.

The museum is laid out extremely well. The lower floors are about the very old history of Colombia and as you go higher up it becomes much more contemporary. There are great technological features that make the history come alive. Projections, audio and even cards in English explaining each of the rooms. Free admission, clean restrooms, a gift shop and cafe. Must see!!

We especially appreciated the "Nación y Memoria" exhibition that was a beautiful, inspirational and moving presentation of the history and culture of Colombia. The juxtaposition of some works were striking. Not only is are the memories of Colombia and Colombians presented but the exhibition will live in my memory for some time. The building itself is worth a visit - a beautiful conversion of a 19th C (?) prison. The collection is well presented, and linked with Colombian history. I was particularly moved by the little video of Gabriel Garcia Marquez receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature.
