This was on our to do list as it something we feel strongly about having a suitable river estuary almost on our doorstep. However, this is not likely to happen because lack of money and it will disturb the wildlife found on the river banks. We did not expect to taken underground so that was an added bonus. We spent a long time looking at the displays on the upper floor of the Station and asking questions so it was lucky for us that we were the only visitors at the time we chose to visit. The scale model was excellent.

The doors were just closing but they opened up for us specially and gave us a mini-tour. Very interesting and informative.

We found the tour very interesting and informative. We learned about the challenges of harnessing the tides to generate electricity and the plans to do more in the Bay of Fundy. You can view the actual power generating equipment during a period when it is not operating so it is worth checking to see when it will be open for viewing.

Good parking available at this excellent tour. We were met by a volunteer who introduced us to the employee conducting the tour and provided an explanation of power generation. The tour started upstairs and we learned about the introduction of tidal generation, as this is the only functioning plant in North America. He explained about the initial concept of using a location in the Bay of Fundy and why it didn't work. They have a scale model of the generator and turbine to observe, Also discussed wind generation and impending run of river plans. If you are interested in the technical side, you'll enjoy this tour and it's also free.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the generating station and we found it interesting how the electricity is generated using the tides.

The staff were very knowledgeable and did there best to perhaps give too much information. Lovely views and well worth a few minute stop. Tourist information at the lower level was helpful

I knew nothing about tidal power, and our 'tour' was wonderful. Les answered all my environmental concerns, explained tidal power and the turbines, and while I am still skeptical, at least I have information. We got to go down to above the turbine. That was interesting (scary). Also has a great view.

There is very little to see in the observation deck but fortunately there is a guide who does an excellent job in explaining how the generating facility works. The guide is well versed in the facility history and in all of the work being done world wide to harness the power of the tide. A supine was when we were offered to visit the actually generating room. Donning hardhats and safety glasses we took the elevator down into the working area of the generating station. Very interesting.Only comment would be that mockups and digrms should be on display in the observation deck.

For scientific types, this is an interesting place, and the tour is very honest about the technology and its limits. The location is also interesting. Worth a stop.
