We had been looking forward to this 2-hour adventure and we weren’t disappointed! After getting outfitted with PFD’s we set out on the river and then stopped to await the tidal bore. Once it arrived, our guide drove us out to dance on the resulting turbulence and we were blasted and flooded with waves of dirty water. It’s a lot of fun, but hang on!! On the way back, we stopped to slide in the mud of the river banks (optional!).Tip: If you get cold easily, I recommend wearing a rain jacket (they have some for loan).

One of our best days out East this year. But definitely not the OCD clean or any discomfort with been submerged and doused repetitively with water. We ( 2 adults, 3 teenagers) undertook the 4 hr tour which starts by motoring up river to the mud flats for some mud sliding. The boys were covered from head to toe in mud but never stopped laughing... there was some mud slinging followed by a jumping into the chocolate milk coloured water to "clean up". Headed further up river to further experience the extreme nature of Bay of fundy tides...should have a light jacket with you as even on a 29 degree day, the winds can cool yu quickly. Then it was time fo rrafting.. never did we laugh and giggle so much on the trip as we were buffered by the waves that Alex headed us into. Some were 10 ft and we submerged the zodiac multiple times..a few of us also ended up in the river as the wasves washed us away. this was a great experience and memory. wishing we had our camera with us to capture the mud monstersOnly disappointment was that the restaurant was not open after our trip as we are more than ready for a seafood lunch.

Took my wife and three kids. The slow ride down the river was warm and very picturesque, but as we neared the mouth of the river the wind picked up. Once we got wet in the waves of the tidal bore, it wasn't long before my family and everyone else were freezing cold! We went from laughing/screaming in the waves in the first 10 minutes to utter silence, as we all were thinking how much longer are we going to stay out here and freeze! Many of us eventually lost feeling in our hands and found it difficult to hold the raft rope. One thing I noticed was that most of the other rafts had their guests cloaked in rain gear, which likely kept them warm...those people all seemed to be having fun. Given that everyone in our boat had no idea on what to expect, I think staff should have told people to bring rain gear or, like the other companies, provide it as part of the service. When we got out of the boat we stiffly rushed directly to the hot showers! If we had stayed warm, this would have been a fantastic ride. Unfortunately, I feel $500 was spent tortouring my family. Make sure you use a company that has the proper water gear to stay warm and you'll likely have some serious fun.

So I booked this for a break in a drive between ontario and the South Shore Nova Scotia. This has got to be one of the best experiences ever. The whole team is a great set of people, super nice, informative, and a ton of fun.Our group of 4 included my mother(60ish) sister and a friend we were in a boat with another 4 and Victoria our captain. Despite being a miserable day outside (your going to get wet anyway) they offered those who wanted them rain gear, it was an amazing experience. We all managed to stay in the boat and had an amazing time.. At the end you get to let out your inner child on the mud slides. Too much fun, but heads up not to wear something white, or special, as I am still trying to get the mud out... But an amazing time!i would highly suggest this to everyone!

We slid down the stairs and the muddy bank on a rainy day in June for the two-hour tour, clad in the slickers and life vests provided. Our guide Katie helped us into the raft and gave us our safety instructions, warning us that falling in the river was not an uncommon experience. She promised to do her best not to flip the boat. We had two seventy-year-olds in the boat, two girls, age 9 and 11, and assorted relatives in between. We all held on tight to the ropes and had a screaming good time! Katie expertly handled the raft, pointing out the bald eagles along the bank and explaining the wave action and movement of the tides. She let us out on a sandbar that did a very good imitation of quick sand, then we all scrambled back in the boat as we saw the tide approach. We made several passes through "nature's roller coaster," the standing waves of five to ten feet that soaked us and the boat in surprisingly warm but muddy water. The girls screamed and complained, but with excited smiles on their faces the whole time. Thanks to Katie's sharp eyes, we were also lucky enough to circle (at a safe distance) a whirlpool in the river--not a common sight, she told us. By the time we returned to the dock, the tide was up at least ten feet.We stayed in the one of the cabins so we could take a leisurely shower and change into dry clothes. We had lunch in Shubenacadie but bought groceries at the coop and cooked dinner in the cabin. Of course, we would have had more fun if it hadnt rained, but in fact it was the perfect activity for a soggy day. The staff was very helpful. The only downsides were that our stay took place before the restaurant was open but after the gas fireplaces in the cottages had been turned off. All in all, a great adventure and fun lodging.

We missed it by 5 minutes, don't trust the estimated arrival time displayed. Guide book says +/- 20 minutes from the estimated time but for the day we went it came 25 mins early

We were on a cross Canada trip to Nova Scotia from northern Alberta... I have heard about the Tidal Bore and had it on my bucket list for a few years.... we heard from a friend that this was the best Tidal Bore Tour group to go with and they were pretty darn awesome! We have done many white water rafting trips and this has to be one of the very best times we have had... not that this is white water rafting by any means...Dan was the man! He was our captain and originally from Ireland. Not sure what brings an Irishman to do Tidal Bore rafting in canada but... He gave us a scenic tour of hte Shubenacadie river and we saw several bald eagles and he xplained how the waters converge onto each other creating the Tidal Bore. Then it was time to ride the rapids! He took us over and over through the rapids... the washing machine and the roller coasterand in our hurry (as it was late and we still had an hours drive a head of us) and wet cold selves we didnt have a chance to run back in and tip Dan so I decided I could do so much better by recommending him and the Todal Bore Rafting Park on TripAdvisor! Then I found out it wasnt even on TripAdvisor so I added it for them! The place has cabins and a restaurant and above ground pool and theres a lovely walking trail that is quite dense and rugged but its a really nice walk we took our dog on it while we waited for our ride. They will also tie your dog or put your dog in a kennel while your rafting so thats a bonus. It was a grey wet miserable day but the water was incredibly warm and we were soaked!Everyone on our raft enjoyed the ride and I will post pictures once i download them!
