Early October. A mild one at that. Although the park boasts of being substantially open throughout the year, a lot of the animals have clearly already gone on their winter vacation (the ample choice for parking should have forewarned me). Other than lacking a cafe / tuck shop I can see this would be great place to visit more in the summer season; well maintained paths should be ideal for wheeled visitors too.

We have been to many wildlife centers and zoo's. This is an awesome wildlife park. It is beautifully set out. There are a lot of animals. Some animals the kids could feed corn. Highlight was the Moose. Animals big and small. Wolves, fox, elk, otters, eagles, birds. We did it with two kids under 7 and they loved it as much as we did. Afterwards we drove to the picnic area/playground (too far to walk from parking area to Wildlife park). A lot of tables etc and nice playground for the kids. We will highly recommend a family day out here. Pack your picnic basket and enjoy it after a walk through the wildlife park. The staff were friendly and restroom facilities clean. Helpful : You can use a stroller for little ones. Wear comfortable shoes and hat on warm days. Entrance fee was minimal (thank you)

We spent about two hours at the park, viewing and photographing a great variety of birds and mammals--most native to Nova Scotia or Canada. We discovered skunks and otters, bear and moose, deer and elk, wolves and coyotes, eagles and peacocks, among many other animals all in large pens or cages arranged along paved paths and easily viewed by adults and kids in strollers. There is also a large picnic park and playground for lunch.
