This small pioneer village is a pleasant distraction for an educational visit. Buildings are well-maintained and well organized. Staff are dressed in period costume and very helpful and pleasant. Well worth a visit.

I have been to Lang about 20 times and loved it each and every time. And it amazes me how I learn something new each time I go! It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Their special events are fun too. I recommend going at different times of the year - summer, Halloween, autumn, and Christmas as each brings unique perspectives and programming. And don't forget your camera because there are so many really nice photo opportunities including the buildings, gardens, trees, farm animals (sheep grazing in summer), costumed volunteers, etc. My partner and I love going there as it's a great date spot to walk around, chat, share laughs, get a small snack in the hotel, relax, and recharge.

Going and visiting Lang was like stepping back in time its a smaller version of upper Canada village with enactments of the civil war lots of houses to go through and activity for children and horse drawn wagon rides one of my favorites is the doctors office with all the primitive tools and they explain how things were done then I remember them telling us about how people with migraines would go to the doctor and he would drill holes in there head to relieve pleasure however most of the time they would end up with infection and die I guess its kill or cure any ways great place to see so if ever by Peterborough ON go see it .

I spent a wonderful afternoon here the first week of August. The staff in the buildings were full of not only facts but some interesting stories as well. It was wonderful to see history kept alive and being appreciated by all generations. I purchased some wonderful wool mittens that reminded me of ones my grandmother used to make me when I was little.

If you want to really understand what our forefathers had to endure to survive, Lang Pioneer Village will give you a better idea. We thought we had it bad when we were growing up and post on Facebook about how hard it was. Go to a living museum and learn that we had it really great as children. All that we had never existed in the time of our Great grand parents and Great Great grand parents. Go to the museum at Lang Pioneer Village and learn how lucky we were.

We had intended to listen to an Eagles tribute band in Peterborough on a Saturday night. The weather however was not nice at all (miserable rain). On the Sunday decided to visit nearby Lang Pioneer Village. We were certainly pleased with what they had on display. Most of the village homes are from the 1800's along with farm implements, a hotel, general store, school and so on. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. The young man at the Mill was very informative and pleasant. Lang Pioneer Village is pleasant piece of Canadian and local history.

I liked visiting Lang Pioneer Village. I liked walking along the pathway to the various houses and buildings. I find it isn't expensive and it's a good set-up. They have different events throughout the year and I like going in the Fall to the Applefest or Halloween happenings. It's difficult to go in the buildings if you have a stroller though. I had to park the stroller and carry our baby in and out of the buildings.

If historical sites are your interest and you're in the Peterborough area, go to see Lang Pioneer Village near Keene, Ontario. Costumed guides tell about the life during the 1800s in Ontario. My husband and I enjoyed the time there, and it would be a good place for families to visit as well. From the early settler's cabin to the more established settler through school house, blacksmith, hotel and weavery, there's plenty to see.

We took our grandchildren aged 6 and 8 to Lang Pioneer Village during the summer of 2014. The grounds are kept really nice and the buildings and artifacts are beautiful. Interpreters are available in most buildings and share their knowledge with the visitors. The weaver let the kids help weave a rug on the loom and the printer got the kids to help him print on a two-hundred year old printing press. The kids were kept interested during the whole visit. I think this attraction is of most interest to those over 5 years old. As grand parents we learned a lot too. Little children don't seem to get too much out of the attractions. The price for a family of four was only $20.00 for all of us. Clean washrooms and great interpretive staff. Thanks for a great day.
