Love the design of this museum housed in a local homestead. Would have liked to see more living set up and less cases of info In the main reception rooms.

There is a $5 per adult entry fee, but it was seemingly going to a cause. Lots of different items to see, and a nice new addition on the back of the building. It was highlighting the local soilders from world war 1. Interesting.

The museum sits by the lake and the locks. A nice place to visit or go attend their Wednesday Teas. It is full of interesting artifacts as well as an art gallery.

A very interesting look at life in the 'frontier' thru the eyes of a family home. Some of the items inside from the owners medical/dental practice are eerie. The museum is laid out beautifully and kept very clean. Be sure to have a guide explain some of the items and relay the anecdotes of the family and area history. I was absolutely dumbfounded to see that a huge piece of lace/tatwork was intricately handmaid with the girls and womens hair! I understand this was commonplace back then, but was just a little creepy to me. A great change of gears from the beach, which is only 100 yds away.

It gives a nice overview of what life was like here in the early days. Do try to visit on a day when they hold their Afternoon Teas - delightful.

Went here on Santa Day in Fenelon Falls. Offering a tour of the museum, crafts for the kids, even Yo-Yo making! Showing how the original settlers used to live. I found it very interesting and quite educational. A good place to check out on a rainy afternoon.
