This is a pretty spot on the east end of the island. I like to tick boxes on my "bucket list" and this is one of those box-ticking spots. It is the easternmost point of United States territory, which makes it a cool spot to stop. It's a bit of a drive, but worth the visit for the views. There is a cool monument at this site as well.

We were just north of Point Udall on the beach, snorkeling while our car was parked alongside the highway and someone broke in, made it to our trunk, and took our things. We saw the guy cruising the beach on foot looking for our bag while we were out snorkeling in the ocean. After the fact, we were told to always leave your car unlocked and windows down to discourage any thieves. St. Croix is not a safe place - check out the local news online for crime reports. Both cities on the island looked vacated with empty businesses - we felt like we were always looking over our shoulder, even before our things were stolen. We'll never return to St. Croix again.

It's a nice scenic drive out to the overlook. From it you can see Buck Island, St. Thomas and the British Virgin Islands off in the distance. Not much there besides the view, the tropical breezes and the right to say you visited the easternmost point in the USA.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon on St Croix. Since neither of us had ever been, I decided to "drag" him to Point Udall. It's definitely out of the way but the scenery is absolutely beautiful and he stopped complaining lol You can see Buck Island on the north side of the island. While you're up this way, hike down the trail to the secluded beach. Just don't forget bug spray!

We drove east to Point Udall, a monument shaped like 2 M’s, that is located on a high peninsula that is the most eastern US territory point. The views of the beach and water below were spectacular!

We drove from Christiansted to Point Udall, then headed south as far as the former refinery. Besure to read the info about the monument at Point Udall...very interesting. Truly beautiful and many spectacular vistas. If you want to take a picnic and hike a ways, there are beautiful beaches (just park where the locals are and you'll find them). The castle you see (you'll know it...complete with copulas) belongs to an Eastern European Baroness according to a local we asked. You don't see that every day.

You will enjoy the drive to this beautiful area...but you will enjoy the different views from all sides even more.Pictures cannot tell the story, but it is burned in my brain forever. We never make a trip to St. Croix without coming back.

Beautiful drive and great views of both the North and the south shore. It is the easternmost point of the United States.

I was hesitant to go to Point Udall--so what, a monument and that's it? The monument was fine, but what made it a big highlight of the trip was the ten-minute moderate difficulty walk down to the rocky point. This is the place where the mighty easterly squalls first meet the United States of America, and the stony shore of America stands firm! It was thrilling to see the eight-foot waves crash up and splash on the rocky shore on all of three sides.
