Delightful sunset cruise on a restores schooner ......passengers can relax or help with raising the sails. Proceeds from the ticket price help to fund the Rosway's educational programs for youth. Well-trained staff is welcoming and extremely informative

What a great mission statement! They offer this experience to under served youth who would otherwise not be given this opportunity! They also give experience to students working towards their sailing goals! We even got to help the crew put up the masts! Wow that's a lot of work and we really weren't doing the brunt of it! Beautiful sailing and loved the experience! This is a must do activity!

We spent a great afternoon in St. Croix sailing the Roseway which is a beautiful old restored schooner that is part of the World Ocean School. The captain and crew were talented and personable and passengers were invited to help raise the sails. No mean feat. The winds were blowing and seas were high which gave us a true sense of sailing on a schooner. The waves crashed over the bow and sides of the boat and we got wet and we rocked and we rolled and we loved every minute. An experience of a lifetime.

We have been on the Roseway many times and enjoyed it every time. It is a relaxing sail that gives you a chance to see St. Croix from a different perspective. You really see how large this island is when you are at sea. The crew is wonderful and they have lots of info and historical stories to share. If you are lucky enough to be on island during the time Roseway is there you should not miss an afternoon sail with them!

The Roseway is only in St. Croix a few months a year from January until April, when they move up to Boston. They are an educational boat for a non-profit called World Ocean School. The crew on the boat are college age or just older people who spend six months to a year of two sailing her before moving on having had what I would think was the experience of their lives. The schooner sails from the Port Authority docks in Christiansted. They offer sunset sails several times a week, but since they are also doing educational programs with the local schools, and they do private charters, you need to contact them for reservations. The sail was lovely, and if you have never been out on a very large boat under sail, it is an experience not to miss. They have one of the crew give a history lecture for about 20 minutes of the trip if you are interested, but my husband and I were listening to one of the older crew member's stories of being in the Coast Guard for 30 years. It was a relaxing trip and a great way to see the island from afar from sea level.

The Roseway is a beautiful wooden ship. 137 feet long and still operated in the original way. Passengers get to help hoist the sails. Trip is 2 1/2 hours long. Great way to see the coast of St. Croix. Left at 4pm and returned at 6:30 pm so we say the sun setting over the island. Smooth sailing all the way. The crew was wonderful and we loved the trip. Our only disappointment was buying the beverage/snack voucher which for $10 got you 2 alcoholic drinks(rum punch) or 3 other items- non-alcoholic or a snack which were cans of pop and a poor selection of snacks in very small bags. So for $3.33 that was not worth it. Bring your own snacks and drinks in a small backpack.

Friends gave us this sunset cruise as a gift for our birthdays. Incredible ship, crew is fantastic and knowledgeable, and the Captain is a real professional. Great cruise (wish it were longer) for a great cause. A "must-do" when visiting St Croix.

Roseway is the BEST activity on St. Croix. The captain is SO good with kids; the whole experience is SO interactive. May they stay forever!!

We've been on the Roseway twice, and it is a really great time. It is a fantastic way to view the island. The crew is always welcoming, informative and funny. The bonus of this ship is that they are all about teaching children about sailing. What better reason to support them?

Great sail on historic boat. We were lucky to go on a particularly windy day, so the sailing was magnificent...but definitely not a no-key relaxing experience. Your enjoyably of the experience will depend a lot on what the weather is like, and whether you want to experience a true sailing experience, or just have a casual day out on the water. The crew is great, and the boat is gorgeous.
