This place keeps some of the history of Antigua alive. With some of the buildings still standing and in use and guides to tell you of their original use. Ate lunch at the Copper something restaurant. Food was great but the service slow. I did notice that the common theme on the island was that of a pace much slower than what I am used to during my travels.

Easy stroll through the dockyards, interesting museum, historical buildings, nice lunch options dockside - unfortunately some of the yachts are not accessible close up (really is that necessary? I mean who is going to actually going to do anything - a guard on board would be sufficient - I'm sure the owners could afford that!)..... We had a far better view from the water during our catamaran circumnavigation tour aboard the "Excellence"

Lovely place, kids enjoyed it too. Pretty for a walk along the water, so much to see and read about. Lots of places to eat that looked amazing and few gift shops. Museum was small and interesting. Bakery was nice too.

This is one of the largest attractions in the eastern Caribbean and rightly so as it has history and atmosphere. It is the last remaining Georgian naval dockyards still in use. There is lots to explore - the Admiral's Inn, the museum, mystery pillars, art gallery and bakery. Then you can go yo admire the sleek yachts tied to the old stone quayside and soak up the atmosphere. However at times it can be very, very crowded when all the tour buses descend.

My nephew was married here in Feb. 2014. Beautiful wedding with all the trimmings and fantastic food and reception at Shirley heights. What a wonderful day!!

Interesting place which was clearly instrumental in safeguarding the sugar trade back in its heyday, but still operational as a working dockyard, with quite a few outbuildings converted into fancy bars and restaurants. there is a small fee to get in - tied in with the fee to visit Shirley Heights - and a small local market. Worth a visit!

It is so beautifully preserved you can still imagine what it was like in Nelson's day. It is fun seeing all the gorgeous yachts moored there. Great rotis and cold Caribs sitting by the dock. Try to go when there are few cruise ships in harbour - look up Brysons on line to see when there are none in!

Good to see how the dockyard worked at it's peak with many structures still in place and kept up nicely. The real highlight is seeing the massive yachts that pull in.
