if you are into this thing, the place to go. really something now off the list. crowded, food was not even back yard grill quality, and packed. buildings blocking views. could have been a nice view if there were not clouds. what a gig.

Watching the sunset and then listening to steel bands. A very enjoyable evening, with locals and tourists.

Great bands, bbq, and strong rum punch. No need to buy $45 tickets from hotel or beach tour sellers. Get a cab and just get there. Buy your bbq food and drink. Plenty of cabs there for return trip. A lot of fun.

We booked this as it was " not to be missed " trip. Well it didn't float my boat. I think it was a bit of a rip off. Although the views were exceptional. The overall experience for me was a negative

Sunday night at Shirley heights is party time ! Billed as a favourite with locals but actually a bit of a tourist trap. Hardly any locals there. But if you like steel band music , barbecue food and Caribbean rum go for it !

you should go to Shirley Heights only if you enjoy great local barbecue chicken, ribs, live music, rum drinks, and beer. There are a lot of people enjoying this event so go early and stay late.

it was beautiful I loved the beauty of the old buildings that we walked through and the cobble stones. Disappointed in how small it really was but yet excited in the view

What a fantastic surprise finding this place. There was live music as the sun went down and you can sit enjoying a nice refreshing drink after a long hot day in the sun sailing or if you still have the energy to dance feel free. It's one of those places that makes you glad you are alive and enjoying it!

This is great fun and the views are truly lovely. Great place to have a drink, listen to fun bands, and then head down to the harbor for dinner.

We visited Shirley Heights as part of a ship's excursion on a Wednesday morning. We were given about a half an hour to walk around and look at the spectacular view. Shirley Heights is about 500 feet above English Harbour, and the view of the little town, the boats, and the Caribbean Sea were awesome! The scenery below makes a terrific background for some awesome photos. There is a restaurant, but we did not have time to eat there. There were also some historical buildings, but we did not have time to explore and learn about them. If you plan on visiting Shirley Heights on your own, I would give myself an least an hour to take in the views and explore the historic buildings, and more time if you'd like to have a drink or eat at the restaurant. The stunning view is certainly worth the trip up there.
