This place is AMAZING. There's live music every day at 11am, 5pm and 9pm. The programme changes daily (and within the day) and the quality is superb. Lots of space, relaxed bar, nice patio, locals were often dancing there, everyone was really happy. Waiters and other staff lovely, friendly guys working the bar area. Try the homemade lemonade- it's very refreshing. They have a shop too and ok-ish toilets at the back of the patio. I went every day and I'll go back in the future hopefully- you will see, feel and hear the real Cuba here. Loved it!

We were strolling through the Santiago de Cuba streets at night when the wonderful music coming out of this bar drew us in. The band that were playing were exceptional. The bar was very popular but people were not jammed-in and we were shown to a table at the front, near the band. Part of the bar is outside (the patio, I guess) where the band was located and people were dancing or simply listening to the music. On the night of our visit it felt less touristy than other places we had been to. For example, we preferred it to the Casa de la Trova (reviewed separately) which is close by.

muy lindo lugar para tomar algo y escuchar musica, además de adquirir las artesanias diseñadas por Artex, sus manteles con reproducciones de artistas son muy bellos, tengo unos cuantos, ojalá los fabriquen nuevamente

Una tienda nirmal, pequeña sin mucho que mostrar. Pero pueden encontrar varias cosas para llevar de recuerdo, aunque si caminan un poco mas por esta calle encontraran artesanos en la calle y ahi pueden encontrar cosas mejores y a un mejor precio.

il miglior posto per la musica cubana, è il vecchio Cafè de la trova (da cui i trobadores..) il Trovatore italiano.qui nella architettura cubana il gerente Arturo Aguilera ci parla della tradizione cubana, che non è solo la salsa (metallica, creata para los gringos, per gli americani) ma delle radici, del Bolero ,del Son , della Guaracha, del Mambo, di tutta la musica latino-americana che . a parte merengue, samba, e tango, hanno creato loro in America.ottimi Ron, preferite il Caney, il Santiago, non troverete più il Mathusalem.... purtroppo!
