我去过五次肯尼亚，五次纳库鲁湖，每次去都是为了火烈鸟、白犀牛和狒狒崖，最近的一次是去年10月份，因为全球气候变暖，火烈鸟比以前已经少了很多，但纳库鲁的风景还是依然美丽，我依然还在追寻我从来也没有看到过的花豹。纳库鲁保护区里有两个酒店，一个是LIONHILL LODGE, 另一个是NAKURU LODGE,我都住过，各有千秋，都很有意思。

Small park where we were able to see numerous animals close up. Had some of the most amazing scenery you will ever see. We were able to get out of the vehicle and take pictures and stretch our legs with zebra, gazelles and impalas grazing in the distance. There were a few flamingos but our understanding was that due to the lack of rain, many had left the area. However, this park is definitely worth a visit.

Visited Nakuru National Park in end Jan 2015 through Kenya Budget Safaris (Esther). Sighted leopard, rhinos, cape buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, baboons, monkeys, antelopes, flamingos (far away) and other bird life. Semi arid region but full of wildlife. Definitely worth a visit. Stayed in Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.

For such a small park, the amount of wildlife was amazing. We loved watching the white rhinos and the flamingos at the lake. Other than these attractions, there were numerous zebra, buffaloes, hippos, gazelles, giraffe and impalas. We didn't see any predators, but enjoyed the animals we did see.

We visited Nakuru National park, Kenya, with Thomas Cook. Nakuru lake was full of flamingos.We saw Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes, Baboons lots and lots of wild Buffalos. Road travel y the side of lake is amazing. We were also taken to an hill top, from the we had a beautiful view of the lake.

We took a friend to Nakuru National Park (we live in Nakuru but hadn't been to the park yet) while she was visiting Kenya for work and had a spare weekend. We loved it!We saw black and white rhino, giraffes, zebra, warthogs, jackals, flamingoes, pelicans, gazelles, impala, dik diks, monkeys, ostrich, water buffalo, monkeys and more, which is fantastic for just one day!We booked a driver and 4WD people mover with opening roof with Molten Rock Safaris for a very reasonable 9000 KES (car would have fitted 9 which would make it super good value). Organisation via email was super easy and we just paid Michael directly when he arrived. Price included fuel and Michael's entry to the park. Michael arrived at 6:55 for our planned 7am departure, and for the next 10 hours he guided us through the park and the animals. We stopped at the far end of the park for a picnic lunch we'd taken with us, and then Michael took us to a lodge for drinks during the hottest part of the day when the animals are hiding in the shade and it wasn't going to be fun to be in the car. He was extremely knowledgeable, and was great at sensing when we wanted to stop for pictures and observation and when we just needed to drive.If you're going for the day and taking your own lunch, we recommend taking some frozen bottles of water (we took one frozen and one chilled bottle per person, plus juice boxes) because the afternoon is hot and dusty and you'll appreciate the cold water. The frozen bottles also act as great ice blocks for packed lunches. We were also glad that we took baby wipes with us - they were good for when another car passed us and we got super dusty and we wanted to be able to wipe our faces and hands. Even with the top up you'll be exposed to the sun so remember sun tan cream, hats, sunglasses, and of course cameras and binoculars.If you want to do just one park for one day, Nakuru is the place to go - better than Nairobi's park (though Nairobi has elephants). Well worth the $80 price tag for entry!

We were thrilled to see a large number of flamingos which was fortunate considering the soda in the lake that attracts them has decreased dramatically.

Tourists going to Nairobi please make it a point to visit Lake Nakuru, not far off from Lake Naivasa or Lake Elimentaita. It has a number of wild life, the most significant being-flamingos,which can be seen in thousands in one one frame. It is also known for white rhinos, water bucks, lions, cave buffalo and other animals. But please remember that the lake might change its character reducing the content of algae, the main source of food for the flamingos. I was disappointed very much last summer(August 2014) not finding flamingos there at all. Learnt that the birds have migrated to Tanzania in absence of algae. This phenomenon is not a regular one. So please take this in proper spirit. But there are no dearth of wildlife. lake Nakuru is one of those easily accessible places where one can see cave buffaloes.

I had a spare day following a business trip to Nairobi. I booked a day excursion through the hotel (Southern Sun Mayfair) and for the princely sum of US$400 secured the services of a driver (Duncan) and a comfortable game-viewing minibus (the price comes down the more people in the party.We set off on a good (by African standards) tarred road. Traffic is heavy with a lot of trucks carrying containers from Mombasa into the interior. Duncan was an excellent driver and drove confidently with panache.The descent into the Great Rift Valley is impressive. There are frequent stops on the drive down so you can photograph the vista - although it is hard to capture the size and magnificence.After approx 2 hours we reach the main gate. The guys in camouflage are Park Rangers and the guns they carry are for the protection of themselves, the wildlife and you as a visitor.The drive was for most of the morning (approx 3 hours). The view was 360 degrees as the vehicle has a raised roof. The dirt roads were OK although I am not sure i would want to tackle them in a minibus when the rains come.The numbers of game were impressive (herd size). In no particular order we saw Zebra, Thompson's Gazelle, Impala, a sole White Rhino with accompanying birds, an aloof Giraffe, large herds of Buffalo, Water Buck and a solitary Warthog. We caught a glimpse of three Lionesses and two cubs hiding from the midday sun under an Acacia tree. Then a Buffalo almost completely devoured (fresh, less than two days old) and finally a single, mature Lioness sprawled in the branches of a tree.Recent rises in the lake's water level have reduced the numbers of Flamingo. But they are returning as the algae beds (their principle food source) re-establish themselves. Saw Marabou Storks, a yellow Billed Stork and a number of Pelican.A three course lunch was taken at the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge and very nice too. Rounded off with an ice-cold Tusker Lager. The lodge was well populated with American visitors and a number of local people (always a good sign in my view).The drive back was pretty much as expected with a snaking traffic jam up the escarpment (broken down truck at the top). Arrived in a rainstorm at the hotel at 17:30 thoroughly pleased with the day's excursion. Was it worth it? Every cent. Although, good company as Duncan was, it would have been nice to have a couple of other people on the tour: a. For the conversation and b. To get the price down a little.

Take the ride in jeeps to lake nakuru to see the pink flamingoes. Great chance to see the lions and also the Lepords. wild bisons and deer.
