It is a very dense park so its hard to see anything. But we still saw lots of buffalo, hogs etc and the Elephants(the reason we went there). If you only have a day go to Solio instead. But its still worth a visit :-)

This is my all time favourite park in Kenya. I would recommend taking plenty of time out because it is a park worth sitting still over and taking in the scenery, listening to the water falls and enjoying a good hike.

It's a great park with deep forest and herds of elephants, buffaloes, Rhino, the rare bongo, monkeys and variety of birds. The park is wet and a 4x4WD vehicle comes in handy. Would have loved to stay longer here.

A visitr to Aberdare national park is highly recommended! You can drive yourself or take a driver and a car from Outspan, Nyeri. Even half day of Game Drives allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and many different animals. If wanting to see the waterfalls, full day or two is needed. To overnight at Treetops is an expereince, if you can afford it.

This park is one of my favorite in Kenya, the climate is very good for people with heart and respiratory problems , don't joke with the elephants in this park - they can charge at you any time. The Karura Falls are amazing and the terrain is only accessed by 4x4 wheel drives infact the rangers will not allow you to enter without one. When inside the park here i stayed at Treetops which has rich history with Britain and has also a salt water lick which made it easy for me to see wildlife and take good shots without them seeing me. When am not staying in the park i stay at a private rental house nearby although i also came across a new lodge being built at Ndongoro Eco lodge -cant wait to be accommodated.. they plan to have Tree houses concept in Kenya

For the several times i have visited this National park, what impressed me most is big water falls like Karuru, Chania whereby you can walk down stairs to the base point of this fall, Magura(Queens cave) whereby you can go deep in that cave and see an impressive river falling infront of you and Many wild animals like the rare Wild dogs, Giant forest Hog, Black panther,Leopard, Hyenas, Elephants, Buffaloes,Bush pigs,Birds of prey like Augar Buzzard,Kite,Marshal Eagle and many more. This National park is good for safari and for trekking too.I recommend this national park for the mountain and trekking lover who cannot make it to the high mountains like Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro
