I grew up hearing about the falls and I couldn't wait to see them. The falls are a beautiful sight. The day was a bit foggy so visibility was limited. In my mind, I had always thought the falls were bigger than what I really saw but all in all, I enjoyed the trip.

its a beautiful sight, its a cold place so make sure to dress warm, you get a great view of the falls from the restaurant as you enjoy your meal.

The falls were great and I would have liked to have gone to the bottom but the touts were such a nuisance that I left before I had really finished looking which was a shame as I probably won't go back again.It was really crowded with people,but I did look again in the morning when it was less crowded but the mist hadn't really gone.

I was lucky on two counts: firstly there were was no one else down at the bottom of the falls. We had ignored the sign and gone down anyway. There was a reasonable amount of water going over the falls.We Ignored the attractions offered and concentrated on the falls.Bargain hard in the shops. Prices asked were way over the top. Food and drink was cheap.The Falls themselves were well worth the visit and the drive out from Nairobi. The Falls themselves are the attraction and if you are lucky enough, as I was, to be there at a quiet time just take the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle and ignore the rest, which wasn't that intrusive anyway.Probably get a wheel chair to the viewing area at the top.

I really enjoyed the trek down to the floor of the falls. The climb back may be a bone crusher but the euphoria of getting down there and the beauty of the falls was simply exhilarating!

The Falls are breath-taking and beautiful. Excursion down to the bottom was very adventurous. However one needs a guide to keep away criminals who waylay visitors from the bushes with knives.

We got into Thomson falls with a warm welcome by the local guides and the kikuyu traditional dances before getting down to the waterfall. It was a relaxing moment watching this magnificent waterfall, down to the bottom taking that fantastic photo.

It was a great day trip to this waterfall, walking down it was fun and doing a bit of shopping in the local stalls there. Only need a couple of hours here. We hired a car and drove from Nakuru stopping off at the Equator crossing and a few more sights along the way.

Adjacent to the lodge and always roaring with a huge vapor cloud rising up. A hired guide is a must, as the sign above the path states. Your best bet is to hire your guide at the reception desk at Thompson Falls Lodge, otherwise he/she may not be a legit guide. It is spectacular at the bottom, judging from the photos taken by my fellow travelers. The stone steps were too steep and wet for me to complete the trek. Llegamos a estas cascadas de camino entre lago Naivasha y reserva de Maasai Mara. Después de tantas horas metidas dentro de la furgoneta sinceramente fue genial poder bajar a estirar las piernas y además te encuentras con la oportunidad de visitar unas cascadas.Para poder ver las cascadas has de pasar dos obstáculos. El primero la gran cantidad de mujeres locales que te asaltarán nada más salir de la furgoneta preguntándote tu nombre y mil cosas más para que tras la visita a las cascadas visites su tienda y les compres todo lo que puedan. Esto hay que tomárselo con calma y paciencia sin agobiarse, hay que tomárselo como un juego.Una vez superado este primer obstáculo te encuentras que has de pagar una pequeña cantidad (al cambio no llega a 5 euros) para poder acceder a las cascadas. Nada más entrar os encontrareis locales muy bien "disfrazados" que a cambio de una cantidad económica os permitirán hacerles fotos a ellos y con vosotros, Junto a ellos tendréis la opción de montar en camello y en caballo para recorrer unos 50 metros así que yo no recomiendo para nada participar de esta actividad ya que por muy económico que sea no vale la pena y después hay que tener en cuenta el bienestar y las condiciones de estos animales. Hablando de animales, hay un hombre con camaleones dentro del recinto de las cascadas. También por una cantidad de dinero os permitirá cogerlos y haceros fotos, bajo ninguna circunstancia participéis de esta actividad ya que los animales los obtiene de la naturaleza (por mucho que os quiera convencer de lo contrario) y las condiciones físicas de los mismos no son las más adecuadas y ya que vas a una país tan espectacular como Kenya para disfrutar de su naturaleza es mejor no realizar este tipo de actividades que atentan contra ella.La visita a las cascadas tiene una duración variable según el estado del terreno. Cuando yo las visité el terreno estaba bastante enfangado por lo que realizamos una rápida visita. Cuando el terreno está en mejores condiciones existe la opción de bajar hasta muy abajo con lo que el tiempo de duración de la misma se alarga. Por si acaso recomiendo que llevéis una buenas botas de montaña ya que el terreno siempre esta resbaladizo por la cercanía con las cascadas. A pesar de que en el interior del recinto de las cascadas no se puede adquirir comida ni hay lavabos, en el exterior si que los hay y son fácilmente localizables.
