Situated in the e centre (also known as the Domino Centre) in Yaba, Koko Louge is quite a surprise for this part of mainland Lagos. Small, stylish dark club held in black and red with some comfortable sofas and some not so comfortable stools it is a viby place in the evenings with a special comedy night every Wednesday. Been there three times now, mostly after cinema and always enjoyed it. Drinks are not cheap (NGN 700 for a Star and NGN 1,400 for a G&T) for this part of town, but in line with what you pay at a similar place on the islands. Comedy night on Wednesdays starts round 8.30, but if you want to get a seat, be there earlier as it gets packed. Filled with a good mix of locals enjoying a variety of 5 to 10 minute stand up comedians. Don’t be too surprised if you don’t understand half of it as many jokes are local and political delivered in Lagos accent. At the weekend the place fills up round 10 with a slightly more up market crowd. There is a small dance floor, but action is also in between the tables.Nice place to hang out for a few drinks and mingle. Comedy night in particular is great to get into the Lagos vibe.The e centre is a secure place and the club itself has yet more security so safety is not an issue.
