Reader's Alley is such a quaint and fun place to explore. It has a sordid past and is full of history and has the best dining around at The Stone House, which is a historical feat of its own.

Reeders Alley was once the focal point of the miners who came to Last Chance Gulch looking for gold. It was once the miner's cabins, which became small homesteads, as the families followed the miners. There have been restaurants, art galleries and individual shops and studios to entertain and inspire. Word has it not all of the residents have left!

nice walk. would add this to a list of sites to see while in Helena. lasted about 30 minutes and offered a nice glimpse into the history of the city

Definitely a great place to walk around and see the Old Helena. Nice store and close to a great bakery and brewery

A nice little walk up an alley on a hill. Might be good in the evenings, but I think it was probably better a few years back.

This follows on from the pedestrianised mall on Last Chance Gulch and is, if anything, even more disappointing. Very short, very little retail or eateries and, truth to tell, the historic buildings just aren't that interesting. Hardly worth a special trip.

I would't go out of my way to visit this sight, but if it is nearby, it is worth an hour of your time.

For history buffs, this short brick "alley" says a lot about the miners and entrepreneurs that settled Last Chance Gulch. I'm certainly thankful that Helena residents saw the historical significance of this residential block and saved for future generations.

Reeder's Alley was charming but very small and very little to do. Liked the small cabin at the entrance and enjoyed the idea of the Chinese grocers operating their store a century and a half ago but not much time required here for a visit. Interesting short stroll only.

It was Memorial weekend when we were in Helena, and there wasn't much action going on. Read some of the plaques posted in some areas and it was gorgeous day, but would recommend visiting this area on a busier day.
