I had fun, but my teens were bored. This is definitely geared more toward younger kids. I had lots of fun, tho, trying to get my kids to take pictures. There wasn't a lot of interactive exhibits, but the ones they had were fun. Not bad for the price, but a definite one time visit. No return trips planned.

My daughter loves it! We had her 9 year birthday here and we bought annual passes. She loves all the interactive play. My only complaint is that they should get rid of the Egyptian mummy display. The kids are creeped out with it and their is no interaction. You just look at it. Boring!

Great interactive exhibits. Kids (and playful adults) can be pirates, can run a small town, can explore a cave--wonderful place to go.

It was fantastic and very exciting to a 60 year old even the channel 7 video area was so neat . the twins 10 had the most fun playing cameraman and Chloe did the cooking show. she was fantastic. the kids had a ball and carson their little brother was excellent on the ship. They played with the magnets and had a ball.

The exhibits encourage children to wonder about things, try and experiment and learn. It is geared for the 5 - 10 age group. Our kids loved the interactiveness of the exhibits and play areas. We chose this destination for a rainy day - it was a perfect outlet for their energy and curiosity.

I have been taking my kids to discovery Science Place since they were little. They loved it than and they love it now. most of their large exhibits like "the cave" and the "pirate ship" and the pretend area stay the same but they always have a new exhibit for us to explore.Best for preschoolers and grade school children. Love this place!

I have been coming here for years with my son (who now is "too old" for this) and recently returned with my 5 year niece. I was surprised that in the gap of a few years since my last visit not much has changed. We had a great time exploring. The favorite is always the pretend play area for the children. My niece loved getting to act out being a fireman, vet, baby doc,and many more things. It was a great way to waste a few hours.

Wasn't expecting much, but the museum was great. Plenty of things to keep my young grade-schoolers busy. Very large play, pretned area, neat science experiments. Plenty of free play: legos, blocks, magnets, etc. Older kids would be bored.

Wow! UT Tyler students have improved the experience at this science center. The students did a wonderful job painting the exterior murals. Not only do their murals draw you in but they really add to downtown. Upgrades at the science center include the opening of their annex next door (follow the red awnings) which houses a lot of hands-on stations at the moment. (Later, it is supposed to house traveling exhibits.) We spent most of our time in the annex, which was full of great pre-k and kindergarten-age activities. Many of their old stand-by favorites have made it out of storage and to the annex. We were happy to be able to play with them again. There were also a few new activities that were super engaging and captivating. The ambulance is getting an upgrade right now and is off-site. The iguana has been adopted to a personal owner to care for her in her old age. In her spot, there is a new tornado exhibit which is really fun to stand in. Today, some of the exhibits in the main building were closed, and we skipped "town square" because of the ominous noises coming from the back of the room which had a really neat robotic dinosaur exhibit. If you have a dino-lover, you'll want to see their two rooms of everything dinoriffic before the traveling exhibit leaves. (I only got a quick peek because our little guy was scared of them, the noises and it was dark.)They increased the cost of an adult admission ticket to $8 and kids' tickets are still $6. I'm hoping the increased rate with help them do basic repairs (plaster falling off the wall in the golfball rollercoaster room) and improve some exhibits and/or bring new ones in.Mom note: Everything still needs a good cleaning, especially the blocks and building tables. Bathrooms in main building are usually fairly tidy, but the bathrooms in the annex were really clean. Also, there is plenty of room in both buildings to be able to explore and play without feeling crowded. They do not have snacks or drinks, so pack a cooler and keep your wristbands on. The gift shop has some cool stuff that is reasonably priced for the most part. Great place for hot or rainy days in Tyler. Older kids will be bored quickly. Toddlers and 4 and 5-year olds will enjoy it. Put your phone down and have fun with your child(ren)!
